Sokol1_br Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Hanibal, Good idea pub mini-stick in place of horrible red button. Your thumbnails don't show big images... You get new pots for these Suncom? I have 3 these stick - model with China and Castle HAT. In one I use HALL sensor (Honeywell SS495A) to replace bad pots, but find very PITA to adjust center position of HALL/Magnet, due constricts space to work. Sokol1_Br

hannibal Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 (edited) daymn this thing is kickin my butt... almost went nuts when i found out that the talon uses 120K slide pots.. the ch yoke controller board as other ch products controller boards uses 100K pots LUCKY THE GIMBAL BASE DOES NOT PROVIDE 100 % stick deflection!!!!!! i wish i can use Hall effect sensors..but i am using a CH controller board.. no sure how it work wrk together... Triggerhappy69 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 i wish i can use Hall effect sensors..but i am using a CH controller board.. no sure how it work wrk together... Shouldn't be a problem using hall effect sensors at all..? They are just like potmeters.. What defection do you get on the X and Y axis? And what is the voltage coming out from the controller to the potmeters you've got there today? "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. So I took'em out.!" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sokol1_br Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 (edited) Case someone is looking for one SFS: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=suncom+sfs&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_dmpt=Cell_Phones&_odkw=suncom&_osacat=0 Suncom stick use a satellite disk to move pots through a ball-join and a ball-joint gimbal, and one conical spring. Something like this crude drawing: This make put HALL sensor very complicated. You don't have independent X an Y axis to glue magnets. The only way I find (at moment) is use original pot's as magnet support: Original pot: Modifications: "Prototype": Work, but I have problem with reverse HALL lecture near end of magnets. I can not change the range limit of movement (~11mm) of magnet. Maybe need more powerful magnets... If had an easier way to deal with this... :helpsmilie: Sokol1_Br Edited August 20, 2009 by Sokol1_br
Deadman Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Over on the X-plane forms there is a thread Suncom Joysticks. Do You Use Them? http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=27496&hl=Suncom%20SFS&st=0 It gives a lot of information on rebuilding the hotas. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Sokol1_br Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 X-Plane.org GranBichus Suncom mod is very helpful, but the only part that not explain is just how put HALL sensor/magnets in gimbal... The only words about this matter in thread are: The magnets are moveable and the halls are fixed to the base of the saturn ring assembly. Pictures of mod: Sokol1
