Sorry up front, I forgot to save the track file 🤦‍♂️

But perhaps anyone else had this issue, perhaps it is a known problem in the F-4 (feature), or maybe even a known bug?

I was doing some training touch-and-gos the other day at Ramstein AB. I was properly in the flow and Jester praised me every single time 😌
But..

After my 4th touch-and-go, I couldn't raise my landing gear. I was able to flip the landing gear lever, but nothing happened. I tried landing and taking off again, but still it stayed down.

Any ideas on what might have caused this?

I can imagine something like this could happen after a hard landing, but they were all pretty smooth (really, you can ask Jester)

System specs:

i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU

HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3

Its likely loss of hydraulic pressure in the corresponding circuit.

With each touch and go the gear will also take much longer to move.

Can tell more with a working track file ofc.

Can you maybe expand a bit on that please?

(or can I read about that somewhere?)

The gear extension and retraction is powered by the utility pressure circuit. You can check the gauge on the pedestal to see what it's status is whenever the generators are connected. Normally it seems to load the utility circuit down to about 2500 psi from about 3000 with a reference aircraft.

I'm not sure about the 2nd part. It sounds like even good touch-and-goes cause enough wear to slow down the gear extension and retraction.

Here’s one hypothesis that may explain your event. I’ve committed the human factors error of unintentionally activating the emergency gear deployment while clicking the switch for  the landing light /taxi light on. IRL you push in on the lever , but in game it’s triggered by a mouse click on the lever.  Once the emergency gear extension is deployed , it will not retract.

Something like that did cross my mind (I didn't know it is activated by pushing the lever), but I use a hotas bind for the gear.

So no mis clicking

(I am however also using Pointctrl, so a miss click is never far away and could still be the cause)

This isnt wear/tear. It is normal and expected behavior that subsequent gear retractions will take longer. You can also see that in various videos if you really want to look for it.

I am personally not deep enough into the topic to explain it, maybe someone else from the team can take that over. But afaik it is normal behavior.
