can not reproduce F/A-18 Wonkiness

I just started flying the Mig-29 today, but since doing so, I notice that in regions like Caucasus and Nevada, I can no longer load the AIM-9X missiles onto the Hornet, and that F/A-18C only has like 4 liveries available (instead of the usual 30 or so).

Something got corrupted somewhere.  I'm not sure if it's related to the new DCS version, new plane (Mig-29), or something else.

I do have a couple of mods running, Civil Aviation and the F-22, but it all worked before the latest updated and new plane, and has worked for 3+ years.

Historic mode is NOT enabled, and either way the dates are set to 2025, "ALL" is set instead of "COMBAT", there are no payload restrictions, etc ... I already ran through most of the low-hanging fruit.

You should have uninstalled all the mods prior updating. Now just try to run DCS Repair tool checking option to delete all unused files. Do not install any mods and start DCS and check again.

Fair enough but in the past six years I've never once had to do that before.   The mods are in the Saved Games directory.  Anyway, will try.  The Hornet is not even showing up as human-flyable.

I have checked for you what you are reporting and all is good here. No mods, clean update. I am sure Repair will sort this out. After that, install only one mod at a time and test thoughtfully. Mods which are sitting in Saved Games can also conflict with overall structure of units, controls, functionality of different modules, and therefore are not supported.

 

Edit: Sorry! Repair will not remove mods from Saved Games subfolders, you got to clean that yourself.

yeah, I removed them all from the mods directory manually.  Oddly, the Hornet is behaving normally in Sinai, it's just goofed in certain maps.  Anyway, it is repairing for good measure and then I'll test.

Yea, no mods now, ran repair, but still same problem.  Did you get the Mig-29 today by any chance?  That's the only other thing that has changed.

Try this, backup your entire Saved Games folder somewhere - and then remove it. Allow DCS to rebuild it from scratch. Launch DCS and confirm you still have the same issue.

This was a huge update; took me over 300GB to update. Yes, after update I got MiG-29A Fulcrum new module installed. No issues with F/A-18C like yours spotted so far. (Edit: Tested for you both Nevada and Caucasus too)

also check you are selecting the correct F/A-18C Lot 20 in the editor.
