reported Navigation Alignment after repair

Can you re-align the Mig-29 navigation after repairing or cutting off the engine ? I've tried but once the HSI is reset it's lock, there is no way to make a new alignment, is this a bug or you're not supposed to do it ?

can you please attach a track replay, you can save a track when you exit the mission during the debrief window.

We need to check if you have the correct points setup for the airfield and are selecting  that point in the nav panel

Hi, 

Here's my track replay, it's the instant action cold start, I make the normal cold start then move around a little then I turn off the engine and switch, but can't re-align the plane, once the HSI is cage you can't uncaged it, it's locked forever

This issue constantly happens. Spent hours trying to fix it. AFCS only works on initial flights, never works again after repairing at an airfield and restarting the exact same way.

Dear all, I looked at this and ran a quick flight test. I was able to takeoff, land at a different airbase, completely shut down, and then start up again with proper HSI alignment. I hope the attached track may help.

However, in the process, there does seem to be an issue with the FCS test. We are investing.

You missed part of the test. You need to take damage and then repair. And this is in multiplayer.

 I've tried all kinds of alternate methods like realigning gyros, nav prep, and resetting AFCS. NOTHING fixes it whatsoever. We tried hundreds of combinations that would literally be gigabytes of tracks. I included what I can. 

Every single user I have asked to repair their MiG-29A has been unable to get the AFCS to work after. Every single one. 

Additionally, ive only managed to get it to work ONCE after a repair, and it was by turning on ground power before repair, not touching anything at all, and then just starting engines back up, CTRL T to neutral trim, and then Left Alt 9 to rerun the bit test for AFCS. Thats the only way I got it to work. 

This is a big pain in the butt of an issue. I should be able to realign my nav and change other things without fearing that AFCS will break for no reason.

After DAYS of working at this, I have FINALLY found a workaround that I can reproduce with 100% success rate:

Workaround for AFCS failing after repair on MiG-29A (Full Fidelity)

IMPORTANT: When going for a repair at an airfield, don't try to realign gyros or nav or anything. Don't flick any switches after landing other than exactly what I say here:

• Shut off engines (right alt + home, right shift + home)
• Turn ground power on
• Repair
• Turn ground power on again (cuz it disconnects when repairing)
• Turn engines back on
• CTRL + T to neutral trim
• Left Alt + 9 to redo AFCS BIT test

If you do anything else (change gyro settings, realign nav, turn off the afcs switch and turn it back on, it WILL break and be unrecoverable).
