While attempting to perform a best-rate turn at 900 km/h, the AOA indicator became stuck after a few turns, resulting in loss of valid AOA readings resulting in the loss of angle-of-attack limit protection. Is this a modeled feature or a system malfunction? I was unable to find any reference regarding operational limitations in the manual.

Kola Map.

OAT=-2ºc so its not very cold.

Hello,

I experience the same issue on a test mission I made. I suspect temperature playing a role in that, it was -2°C and a few minutes after take off, the AoA needle freeze anytime I played it.
I change meteo to 15°C and the problem disappeared. Everytime played with pitot heat on of course.

Yes AOA vane freeze is a real thing but I doubt the Mikoyan design bureau didn't take into account the operating temperature on the Mig29. With a stuck AOA sensor, you're not able to perform high AOA turns, best rate turn, and also AFCS protections stop working.

I have also experienced this, but only after I forgot to turn on pitot heat. I’ll see if I can see it again with it turned on.
