Skkuda Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Hi! At first I tought "that is going to be the easy one" Wrong! I said to myself thats just about watching the routes at night with my NV googles! I love the way the comms get you immerse in some military operations, and the way they send you some coordinates to get you to introduce a target point to direct you to some areas but I was wrong...its not the easy one! There is too much things to do and the way they should be combined......NV Googles, adaptative blue light, PVI etc etc. Its extremely difficult to spot the routes at night.....untill now I wasnt able to spot the truck, jeep & sedan. But I can promise you that Im not going to give it up! One of this days when I become more proefficient at using my shark im going to catch this little ............... Well calm down Skkuda, thats oK youre still a rookie!:D Skkuda [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic56197_1.gif[/sIGPIC] AMD Phenom IIx4 955 Black Edition@3.2Ghz Asus M4A785TD-M EVO 6Ghz DDR3 1033 NVidia Geforce GTX 570 hd1280 Mb GDDR5

Rhino4 Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Just gave it a whirl. Wish the radio chatter was translated with subtitles so I could understand what they were saying. Overall it was VERY immersive. But the coordinates they gave me were in the middle of the sea? I triple checked and I definitely input the right coordinates. Anyways, I was still able to find the vehicles by writing down the names of the towns that they were between and then finding the correct road on my ABRIS...Can't wait for the a-10c so I can play around with FLIR. CAS in a city with civilian traffic turned on will rock!
manne Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Sorry to dig this up but I need some help with the patrol mission. It's been a while and I'm a bit lost. I have received the coordinates for a target point, 44,27,22N and 39,23,14E. I enter these in the PVI as target point using this: PVI Master Mode: EDIT PVI Task: NAVTGT PVI Point Number: 1 Coordinate: 0-44272-0-039231-ENTER (or something like that) PVI Master Mode: OPER PVI Task: NAVTGT PVI Point Number: 1 So now I have it in the PVI, but I'm kinda lost what I should do next? Program the coordinates also in the ABRIS? Or turn on route mode with the TGT selected (is that even possible)? Or do I need to read the PVI distance info etc and fly based on that? (I'm used to fly using the ABRIS of course, like a Tom Tom ;)). Somehow I'm lost on what to do with the coordinate info
zdXu Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Coordinate: 0-44272-0-039231-ENTER (or something like that) Correct would be: 0-44274-0-039232-ENTER So now I have it in the PVI, but I'm kinda lost what I should do next? When yu activates the NAVTGT-Point a targetsymbol (blue square) in the ABRIS/Map is blinking and the HUD shows the exact distance and the bearing to that symbol. Or turn on route mode with the TGT selected (is that even possible)? yep. It is. Is this mission a user-mission or from DCS-BS?
manne Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) Thanks! I believe it's a stock mission from DCS-BS. Correct would be: 0-44274-0-039232-ENTERI thought you had to round off the last number so North ends with 22 so shouldn't it be 2 instead of 4? Same with the 14 from East (rounded off to 1)? Manual PVI entering is completely new to me :helpsmilie: When yu activates the NAVTGT-Point a targetsymbol (blue square) in the ABRIS/Map is blinking and the HUD shows the exact distance and the bearing to that symbol. Cool. I thought there was absolutely no connection/interaction between PVI and ABRIS systems? Edited October 6, 2010 by manne

adam12 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 How was the radio chatter in this mission created? It sounds real!
EvilBivol-1 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 It is real. They are samples of actual Russian radio chatter. It's mostly humurous bits of ATC controllers talking about night time operations and helicopters blocking taxiways. No real significance to the mission, just added for atmosphere. You will find a similar start to the Altitude mission. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules

They are individual audio files inside the mission file, which you can open using an archiving utility, such as WinRar or 7Zip. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer.
