RogueRunner Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Should I see a little cross on the HUD where the radar is pointing in this version cause I do not? Target is locked With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.
Solution AeriaGloria Posted September 22 Solution Posted September 22 That’s what the rhombus (diamond) is for. To show you the direction and magnitude of antenna movement. It will cover target when in the middle Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

Target is locked For example: If you lock a target and the diamond is situated lower then your cross hairs. You might think that if you roll 180 degrees that the diamond will now appear above your cross hairs, however this will not be the case. The diamond will still show below your cross hairs. This is somewhat counter intuitive often to a lot of people. Myself included. Edited September 22 by CrazyGman
RogueRunner Posted September 22 Author Posted September 22 Never seen the diamond either. With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.

I like this for one reason, I think it will make cranking and rolling to reverse the crank while maintain near max crank angle easier lol 1 Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

It's sadly though terrible if you want help getting eyes on target to see if they launched first.

However in full fidelity that's just a steering cue for best intercept to the target. The diamond will show how far your antenna is positioned off to the side.

If locking with the irst or any of the IRST close combat mode you won't see it since your not locking with the radar. 1
AhSoul Posted September 22 Posted September 22 (edited) Yeah maybe. Just so small I've not really noticed it, or it's overlapped with other HUD items.... Edited September 22 by AhSoul [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Soul's pit thread
RogueRunner Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 Yeah saw it last night With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.
SemperFi Posted September 23 Posted September 23 As far as I know, the MiG 23 marks the target with a dot. Will this feature be available on the MiG 29, or is it not available at all?

Feature did not make it to Fulcrum 1 Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
lmp Posted September 24 Posted September 24 I use the cannon symbology to find the target on the HUD. Hold the first detent of the cannon trigger, the circle will then be overlaid over the target, release the trigger and continue with missile engagement. This will only work if you have range information however, so it'll be fine when using the radar but with an IRST lock you need to wait for laser range. It seems the Soviets were very keen to keep the HUD decluttered or maybe the thing just can't handle too much symbology at the same time? 2

You can also use KMOD ranging with IRST by using target acquisition depress. But soon IRST should get radar ranging. 2 1 Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
