Not sure if this is a bug or intended behaviour.

If you select airfield two or three then hit the RETURN button the selected airfield flips to number one. After that you can select two or three and it'll 'stick'.

Return button should, as the name says, return you to original airport where you took off. Airport 1. It probably was designed for that. You can select other airports manually after. I am not 100% sure if this is the case in RL, but it seems logical.

I believe it should remain on the airfield selected. The Return flight path routine is a return to the selected airfield not the airfield of departure. Thats assuming you have coded airfield 3 by way of the DTC. So if it is changing then thats a bug to me.

Aerodrome 2 and 3 are meant to be “divert airfields”, no?
Using that logic, I can understand the RTN button flipping to AD1 automatically, since flying to a diversion base wouldn’t technically be “returning”.

Divert fields ? No not really they are just airfields you can use. There is nothing specifically that says they are divert fields. There is nothing in the input routine that defines them as a "Divert" field. To the NAV system an airfield is an airfield. Return simply uses the data stored for the selected airfield to compute the return routine.
