Slice313 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Description: Recent feedback from the DCS general channel indicates that DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) is adversely affecting spotting spots. Some users, including me, report difficulties in identifying aircraft at 2-3 nm on 1080p and 1440p displays, particularly during dogfights and bombing runs. This suggests a significant issue with DLAA’s current implementation. This issue isn’t observed with DLAA off or when using MSAA. However, DLAA is still preferable, given the performance and graphical boost. DLAA applies a neural network-based upscaling and smoothing process that can blur or misinterpret fine details, such as the pixel-sized spotting dots used in DCS for target acquisition. This blur effect becomes more pronounced at lower resolution. The performance degradation is resolution dependent, as noted with better results at 4K as some users reported in discord. Request: I ask for the addition of an option to bypass DLAA’s effect on spotting spots. A toggle to disable its influence on these elements would improve visibility and accuracy. I appreciate your consideration of this request. Thank you. Edited 8 hours ago by Slice313 color

Schmidtfire Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) I don't think it's just the spotting dots. We did a few tests and concluded that spotting also is affected by head movement (using TrackIR) vs looking straight ahead in a static fashion. Seems like the issue is connected to FOV aswell. Contacts that was clearly visible would just vanish when we panned our head around at certain angles. Test was conducted at different ranges against AI with and without pause enabled. MAXsenna Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Fixed, I should not post over the phone. Thanks mateGet Tapatalk. But to be fair, there seems to be some strange things with the forum that changes color of text from auto to black and adds white text background for A LOT of users lately. Very noticeable for us on the Dark Side. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1
