Lixma 06 Posted October 26 Posted October 26 During a mission tonight I encountered some kind of automatic G-limiter. It activates/deactivates at appx. 950kp/h and drastically limits pitch and yaw inputs. controls widget.mp4 This has never happened before and I've no idea what caused it to appear. I don't believe I hit any autopilot controls. Also, it wasn't 'awake' for the first few minutes of the mission, and it only lasted about five minutes before vanishing again. Here's a video from the point when I realised something weird was going on. wtf g-limiter.trk
AeriaGloria Posted October 26 Posted October 26 That does look odd. What about your AOA gauge, it is frozen, is this the English cockpit bug this patch or is pitot heat or some other switch off perhaps? Either way, it’s stuck at 15 degrees, and with LEF flap down as we see in your turns the AOA limit should be 26 degrees. When it hits the AOA limit the stick and elevators are automatically tilted down 2 or 15 degrees depending on speed. It becoming “awake” part way into the mission also makes me suspect pitot tube freezing. Pitot tube freezing could also affect ARU and reduce elevator authority at speeds where it shouldn’t reduce it so much. 1 Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
Lixma 06 Posted October 26 Author Posted October 26 (edited) I didn't even notice the AoA guage had frozen. The mission was air-start so pitot heating was already on (at least the switch was up). Playing around some more. I couldn't coax the pitch limiter to appear again, but the yaw limiter seems to be a feature rather than a bug. E: bit more testing - the limiter kicks in at 1040kp/h @ sea level - well, the yaw limiter does. I've been unable to coax the pitch limiter out of hiding. Edited October 26 by Lixma 06
AeriaGloria Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Above a certain speed a pedal stopper appears at 1/3rd pedal deflection that requires extra force to move the pedals beyond that point. Solution Mateo Posted November 5 Solution Posted November 5 Stick limiter in DCS is a feature to limit your movement of stick to a certain point. In real life at this point the pilot feel rapid force increase, and can overcome this limit to full stick deflection with additional force. Position of this "limiter" depends on more parameters than simple AoA. I can't remember if it is AoA+Mach number/airspeed or more. In DCS you can switch it off while pressing Stick Limiter button in settings-controls. 1 AMD 7800X3D, RTX 4070Super, 64GB RAM, Win11, Pimax Crystal Light

In DCS you can switch it off while pressing Stick Limiter button in settings-controls. It’s Mach. 0-0.45, it pushes stabilizer down -2 degrees. 0.45-0.72 (LEF locked up) it’s -15 degrees. Then -2 degrees again above 15 degrees AOA, assuming LEF are working Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

Mateo Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Really ? I will need to buy one. My Wingwing set is overrated then. AMD 7800X3D, RTX 4070Super, 64GB RAM, Win11, Pimax Crystal Light
MAXsenna Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Really ? I will need to buy one. My Wingwing set is overrated then.Well, that's the beauty of FFB. Has always been like this. Even with 20+ years old Microsoft FFB Sidewinders. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
