nemises Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 So, When playing on a server with more than 4 people, invariably there is a conflict with datalink ID's, with everyone staying with the default 127.500. Now that ED have introduced "Message to Country" trigger actions, I thought that MP mission designers could help the situation in the following way: - diferentiate friendly groups of KA50's by country (ie. a group of 4 from Russia, 4 from Ukraine etc...) - create a "front condition" "Unit is alive" trigger for each KA50 - action each trigger to "Message to country" for that specific groups country with the message "Use Datalink Frequency xxx.xx" In this way, each time someone spawns, the choppers in that group get a message as to what DL frequency they should be using, and hopefully this will keep things a bit cleaner. Cheers, Nem
159th_Falcon Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Good idea. Now where at it, i like to request everyone flying online whit DL on to do the following. Before you start flying note whit Flight # you are in the list of selectable aircraft, a lot of servers have something like Weasel # 1, 2, 3, 4 Falcon # 1, 2, 3, 4 etc etc Now when you set DL ID set it respective to the Flight id you picked, for example if you picked the Weasel # 3 flight set ID to 3. Alot of people just pick a random number which get confusing, if everyone does the above you only have to press the ESC key to look in the list who is on what ID [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)
PoleCat Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Excellent Idea! Out http://www.104thphoenix.com/
Quirkitized Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 This is a great idea and I will probably put this into future missions myself, thanks.
Boulund Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I'm joining in and totally agreeing. I've had some great times online and all of the have been when the DL IDs have worked out =) Core i5-760 @ 3.6Ghz, 4GB DDR3, Geforce GTX470, Samsung SATA HDD, Dell UH2311H 1920x1080, Saitek X52 Pro., FreeTrack homemade cap w/ LifeCam VX-1000, Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1.
