Only half my map showing and cannot edit aircraft or waypoints.

Hi Guys,

Been struggling for hours on this. I cannot get the full screen map to show either in mission editor or in the flight. Also, when I spawn an aircraft or a waypoint the panel on the right that allows editing disappears so I cant really create a mission.

Any suggestions?

I have no mods. Only the F18 and one more map. Did the repair. If I uninstall and reinstall will I lose all my key bindings?

Just to add and not sure if it has any relevance - this is on a 3 monitor setup.

Reinstalling and seeing but as usual download speeds are abysmal. I have a 400mbps connection and this is what I get

Reinstalled and landed up with the same issues. Now I launched in a single screen and it seems to be working. Will do my mission planning etc in that but will still have the issue of only half the map when flying in a triple screen. So, if anyone has any answers will realy appreciate it.

SOLVED. After over 6-7 hours of faffing. My scale GUI was set to 2 as the icons were very small. Changed it to 1 and it works fine now. In case anyone else needs this solution.

Thank you for coming back with the solution!
Tip for the future. NEVER bother to perform a reinstallation. A full repair does the exact same trick. And as for your question, a repair/reinstallation does not touch your Saved Games folders.
So, to get DCS back to plain vanilla. Perform a full repair and rename, (never delete), your Saved Games folder.

Cheers!

Thanks for the tip about reinstallation. It took me over 4 hours.

Yes I googled and saw that the saved games folder remains ok, though strangely what I did was copy that folder to another drive and then delete it before reinstalling. I didn't copy the folder back but DCS still retained my key binds. I was rather surprised.

Oh, and lots of threads where people say slow downloads are user error? That's nonsense. I have a 400mbps connection which actually runs at that speed and a mesh network with a wired backhaul AND my gaming PC is hardwired to the network and I never get more that 18-20MBPS

Ouch! A repair would've probably taken you a few minutes.

Strange indeed. Sure you deleted it, or maybe you restored it from the trash can, unless you permanently deleted it LShsft+Del.

Who knows. That's Windows and not DCS.

Millibits? 😜 Yeah, probably your ISP. I have 500Mbps and I always download steadily at 63MBps+ steadily. Even faster than what I get from Steam. I live in Norway.

So not necessarily on ED's end, as it will differ from user to user depending on a lot. Try with a VPN next time, might be better. And if it is, it's either something with your ISP's routing or they're limiting the connection to ED for some reason. Then you have proof and can complain.

Cheers!

Edit: Just remembered you live in India. Ask your ISP how much bandwidth they have purchased abroad, and how many customers they have. They're probably over selling. That was a huge problem in the Western world when we were on dial ups. They will never tell you though. 😉
