Just wanted to give great big props to the def for obviously putting in so much time and effort on the FFB effects in this bird. I believe this has set a new bar on how FFB can be implemented to enhanced realism and fidelity.

There's a light rumble when taxiing, and a bump when you come to a full stop, plus trim and aero forces, pusher, stall, etc, it really does make you feel the plane in a way you can never with a non-ffb stick. Bravo!

yes! I forgot to mention that. doing the AP tests on the ground and have my joystick swing left/right/forward/back was such a fun experience. really makes me enjoy doing the preflight more now 😛

I am using VPforce TeleFFB v2 and was positively surprised it connected to DCS C-130J telemetry with a ready custom profile and provided even more effects for both my Rhino base and custom build VPforce FFB TPR pedals.

is VPforce TeleFFB v2 the name of your joystick? i've been looking for other ffb ones in case my sidewinder breaks

You haven't paid attention my friend! You can always ask me! VPForce Rhino has been around for years now, and it's competition is the FFBeast. They come with a price tag though.
If you want one quickly prebuild, you have the Moza AB9 or AB6, and Winwing and Virpil have their own versions planned.
None as cheap as the MS one. If anyone drops a competitor, price wise, the the MS FFB2, there won't ever be a market for historical joyaticks anymore.

TelemFFB is the name of the optional telemetry software for the VPForce Rhino. V2 is simply the latest version of that software, which brought substantial improvements.

Read great things about it. The price is not too bad. And I'd say it's the closest MS FFB2 killer we have currently.

It would be interesting for somebody that knows more than me to explain how trim affects the position of the yoke in the Herc.  I think the trim on the elevator is of the “trim tab” design, which displaces the entire elevator plane.   Wouldn’t this cause the neutral point of the yoke to change each time you trim out forces?  However, it seems that the yoke currently always stays in the same place visually on screen (I don’t have FFB-yet).   To those with FFB, are you seeing the stick stay where you trimmed it?  Does it match the screen?

As an aside, I did see an “explainer” video somewhere regarding trim on some airliners that actually does retain the same neutral position, regardless of where trim is set.   That was due to the differences in the mechanics of how trim was achieved (the entire horizontal surface was rotated, as opposed to aerodynamically displaced by trim tabs).  So I definitely understand that systems across airplanes can vary a great deal according to their designs.  And I’m really not sure how the herc is designed in this respect.
