Eskam001 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Hi I have not been able to run BS for more than a short time before random BSOD occurrs,in MP or SPlayer mode. This was cured (at the moment) by removing the Saitek SST software and programming all commands through BS options. All now OK apart from I want to use the X52 wheel & buttons feature on the throttle but BS does not recognise them so I cant.So I have 3 questions 1)Has anyone got these three to work together without problems,if so how? 2)Is there any way to use the mouse functions of the X52 without the problematic SST. 3) It took ages to re-programme the BS, which files do I need to back up to save the profile,& where are they? Any help greatly appreciated. System:Win XP sp3,EVGA 680i mobo,E6600 @ 3.1,4GB OCZ RAM,Asus 275 GTX,Spinpoint 750 HD,Tagan 480 PSU,Bit defender AV, HP 2408 monitor,PS2 mouse (removed sidewinder;caused more crashes) non USB keyboard. No soundcard,All latest drivers, chipset drivers/software drivers.
nemises Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Hmm... I use X52 , Win32 XP and SST no probs I actually map 99% of stuff direct in BS..only SST I use is to put a TS PTT button on my rudder pedal toe brake, lol.. I use the X52 mouse in BS all the time...it just thinks it's a mouse...nothing to do with SST (though you will need the X52 drivers installed, which will also install "saitek magic mouse" , and "saitek magic keyboard" devices). Bit confused as to why BS would not recognise all X52 axis...it does on mine? Sounds like maybe you need to ge th latest X52 drivers...then check in contrl panel, controllers to see if all axis and buttons are seen in windows....if windows (direct input) can see them, then BS can see them too...
Eskam001 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Thanks for that, I guess the X52 wont have the mouse function without the software.I cannot put the SST back in as I am sure it will just BSOD again, sometimes within a few minutes, sometimes a half hr.I do have the latest drivers, still no mouse function. Do you have track IR running as well?
BKLronin Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Hello ther! I got the same Setup. There is a new sst software available at Saitek forum. With that version you can use all functions of the X 52 pro. Additionally you have to disable the clutch button of the throttle because it can cause trouble if you shift profiles. Works perfectly here. Ask me per PM if you got any questions. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Eskam001 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 I had a look in device manager & the magic bus & mouse have gone (since un installing the SST). In controll panel/game controllers the testing and properties tabs are still there & working & appear to recognise all the axis & buttons on the stick & throttle (& rudder).I used this to identify the mouse buttons/mini stick & the small thumb click button (I used this for the collective brake in SST) but when assigning the button number in BS the buttons do not work even though they are listed in the button assignment lists eg button 16,19 & 31.Als I am sure I did have the latest SST, BKLronin, but will look again to see. thanks all
BKLronin Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 (edited) You have to program all buttons inside the SST and remove all inside Blackshark. But the magic bus etc devices have to be present for that. If not try to reinstall the driver (notSST). Programming all buttons in SST takes a while but the advanatage is that you can assign almost all necessary controllbuttons with the help of the Pinkie switch function and the mode change wheel. (don´t forget to disable the CLutch button in the Test and propertie tabs) http://www.saitek.com/uk/down/drivers.php Edited September 4, 2009 by BKLronin link added [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Eskam001 Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 Hi BK Yep thats exactly how I had it,all removed from BS options, everything was programmed through the latest SST.I did not however know to disable the clutch button. With the above programmed all functions worked, including the mouse, but it just kept randomly crashing to blue screen & "bad pool caller" message.Since uninstalling the SST there has been no crashes & all is well.I have everything programmed in BS options (except stick mouse stuff), even have pinkie assigned to shift change which works perfectly.I wonder if I can install magic/mouse/bus without the SST?
nemises Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 yeah, for sure! There are two completely seperate installers... One for X52 drivers (which will find and install all teh "magic" bus devices), and one for the SST software. Just don't install SST ... should have no problems... Windows will automagically see all buttons and Axis (including teh microstick as a mouse ... you can use it as a mouse in windows if you like). The SST software is (unfortunately) a bit on the buggy side, and used to causeme all sorts of issues too...latest stuff seems pretty good tho (need it for Lomac and IL2) .. but yeah, as I've said above, I mapped everything in BS itself (apart from my TS PTT key), adn no issues at all.
blaster454 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Several thoughts and recommendations (I have all three running at the same time). 1. You will need to reinstall the SST software to have the magic devices available. 2. It may be Saitek's Direct Output that is the problem. There are reports of Direct Output having conflicts with some MS mouse software. 3. Even with the SST SW installed, you don't have to run with a profile installed into the X52 nor do you have to run with the profiler.exe SW running (I think). I'd try to reinstall the SST software and then disable direct output service (it just allows sending data to your throttle's MFD and is not needed). Then try to run BS without a profile loaded and see if you have the stick mouse control. If there are no crashes, you can they try to load a simple profile to check stability. As mentioned, it is important to get the latest SW install files for both drivers and SST. And make sure you have the newest drivers for each of your Saitek controllers if you have more than one. Slayer Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 This was a really old issue I thought was fixed in 1.01 dis you update yet? Anyways I had the same problem, you don't need to do all that other stuff. Just go into your C:\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\bin\stable and delete or rename the lua_direct_output.dll file. Eskam001 Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 (edited) Yes I removed the lua direct output dll way back in an early effort to fix.Doing that stopped the game crashing out and enabled all missions/tracks to work (a seperate earlier problem, now fixed), but did not stop the BSOD, bad pool caller problem which kept crashing windows.I have tried re installing all saitek drivers /software,graphics drivers and the only thing that cures the BSOD in windows is removing the SST alltogether.I have got used to it not being there now & have no problems what so ever (apart from not being able to use the mouse functions on the stick). If I get time I may try the SST with no profile.I would like to back up the Black Shark controll profile in case though, anybody know which files? thanks all. BTW yes I am on 1.0.1. Edited September 4, 2009 by Eskam001
BKLronin Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 To avoid the crashes it is important to deactivate the Clutch function in the Control tab. I ve attached a sreenshot of my german gui. That simple tickbox trick (together with ver 6.6.6.9of sst) solved my crashes with BS no need to copy or edit any files. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Eskam001 Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 Thanks all. I re installed SST & disabled the clutch button.Started adding assignments to the SST (only the ones with pinky mode shifts) & all seemed OK.Then BSOD again.I have un-asssigned the throttle mouse wheel & throttle mouse wheel button from the SST & so far all appears OK.It may be possible to run SST without anything assigned to that function.I will try it like this.
