Good day,

I was going through the Firing Range mission last night, and had taken my time messing around with the systems before taking off, so that by the time I made it to the range it was getting rather dark and the Skhval would not pick up targets anymore (I imagine because the contrast between Dark target and Slightly Less Dark background was not good enough for the system).

I was however able to fire the Vikhrs manually, but was wondering if it was possible to manually aim the cannon as well? Whenever I would arm the cannon it would just go boresight and I could not figure out how to move it.

Thank you.

You can aim it using the HMS. If you hold the designate button, the gun will track with your head movement (a bit like the Apache Gun, but with limited field). You need to make sure you are in Auto Tracking Mode (not Gun Sight mode) from the switch next to the HMS selector.

The cannon works the same as it did befor. The schval just wont lock targets. You still need to hit the lock button to fire the ranging laser for the cannon to have the right distince to target. Just hold the box over the target lase it and fire. You will hit it as long as you are with in the limit of the gun.

I really like this mode but the Heli really bucks out of alignment throwing your aim way off due to the recoil.

I usually just look around with the HMS, when I start firing I let go and designate in the target area to make the pipper stay in place. If the range to the target changes while firing (throwing the impact calculations off) I adjust with the hat or designate again..
