Duke49th Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Do we really need the patch 1.01b? Yes or No. Is there any version conflict for multiplayer with 1.01 and/or 1.01a and/or 1.01b ? Yes or No. What is the change in the uninstall.exe? Or, what is wrong with the old uninstall.exe? Is there any future patch install problem if we are not using the new patch? Please, any official from ED, give us/me answer! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 49th Black Diamonds - DCS & Falcon BMS Online Squad
Boulund Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 (edited) There has been numerous threads about this that most of them answer the same questions you are asking. Using the search function results in this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=45418&highlight=patch+1.0.1b As far as I know: 1. Do you really need 1.0.1b if your have 1.0.1a? No. According to above mentioned post you mustn't install 1.0.1b if you've already installed the a-version. 2. Is there a version conflict in multiplayer between 1.0.1a and 1.0.1b? No Regarding your other questions I'm not sure of the answer and will keep my mouth shut. =D Enjoy online play Edited September 26, 2009 by Boulund Core i5-760 @ 3.6Ghz, 4GB DDR3, Geforce GTX470, Samsung SATA HDD, Dell UH2311H 1920x1080, Saitek X52 Pro., FreeTrack homemade cap w/ LifeCam VX-1000, Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1. Using the search function results in this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=45418&highlight=patch+1.0.1b It is intended to unify the 1.0.1 and 1.0.1a patch versions for all users. This is more confusing then claryfing. It does not answers my questions. As far as I know: ....... Don't misunterstand me, nothing against you! But this is only what you guess(I guess the same). But I want an official and clear answer. For me and all other people. Edited September 26, 2009 by Duke49th [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 49th Black Diamonds - DCS & Falcon BMS Online Squad
Cionara Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 You have a reason to not install the new one ? Could understand if you have very slow internet but otherwise why not install the new one ? Watercooled Core i7 920 @ 4,3 Ghz @1.36Vcore GTX280- 700/1188 6144 MB DDR3 7-7-7-18 1333Mhz
159th_Viper Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 But I want an official and clear answer. For me and all other people. The same issue exists with LockOn Flaming Cliffs at present. The patch dance for the newcomer is fraught with potholes, with different patches existing for different locales as well as CD/Download versions etc etc.....Can only imagine what issues the new 1.13 Patch/Update is gonna bring to the table  Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Boulund Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 (edited) I'm sorry but I don't find this at all confusing. Install 1.0.1b if you're on a clean install If you've already installed 1.0.1a (1.0.1) you're good to go, no need to install further updates. Multiplayer incompability between 1.0 and 1.0.1 (both a and b). Multiplayer combability between 1.0.1a and 1.0.1b (1.0.1 as well). These are all topics that any one can test for themselves, doing a clean install - trying to play online, etc. I honestly don't think that either of us REALLY needs the answers to these questions from the devs more than they have already stated in other threads. And sorry for my ranting below... Thought I might put a warning here to those not interested in my rants. =D I understand that maybe no one wants to hear this from me. But this is, at least to my knowledge, more of a community forum for users and simulation enthusiasts, and not as much a "reach-the-developers-helpdesk". Still, I see that the devs sometimes visits the board and comments on stuff but I still think that there has to be some trust towards other community members. This question has been raised before in other threads and I believe that the community will crumble if everyone is only interested in talking to the devs through the forum. I'd like to believe that they are busy with their work (granted, some of them might even have as a "job" to frequent the boards...) and not spending all of their time on the forums. Lava Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Viper, LOMAC and FC isn't too bad. Just install LOMAC, install FC, install the most recent patch for FC. That's what I did a couple weeks ago as per instructions on the forums.
EvilBivol-1 Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 (edited) Versions 1.0.1, 1.0.1a and 1.0.1b are all compatible. Version 1.0.1a altered the installation process to remove the check for Windows regional settings. Version 1.0.1b altered the uninstallation process, to remove the deletion of the 1C folder when uninstalling. If neither of these issues affects you, you do not need to install either 1.0.1a or 1.0.1b. However, if you do install either 1.0.1a or 1.0.1b, you will remain compatible with all other 1.0.1 versions. The in-game content of all 1.0.1 versions is the same. I changed the text in the announcement sticky. Edited September 27, 2009 by EvilBivol-1 - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
