Predator-78 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Hello, I have a question to ask. Flight with an online group with DCS, our problem is that we have created two groups with two leaders. As the two leaders have different frequencies and can not transmit data with the data link, how can we solve the problem? Thanks CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700K 3.60 GHz - DDR4 64,0 GB - MSI RTX3080ti - Win 11 64bit
sobek Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Switch between frequencies. No other solution that i know. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Predator-78 Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 Switch between frequencies. No other solution that i know. Change frequencies? Have you tried? Work? Can you send the targets from the data link of a leader to a second leader in a group different? CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700K 3.60 GHz - DDR4 64,0 GB - MSI RTX3080ti - Win 11 64bit
26-J39 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 We usually use a global freq for passing targets between flights.. eg: Flight 1: 127.500 Flight 2 : 128.500 Global: 129.500 * So any targets passed between flights is done on 129.500 then whoever receives the target further sends it to his flight members. Seem to be the only fail safe way...
sobek Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Change frequencies? Have you tried? Work? Can you send the targets from the data link of a leader to a second leader in a group different? There are no preset group id's. Everything can be manipulated from within the cockpit. You could even regroup in flight. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! sobek Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 how can you set the overall frequency? Please tell me the procedure, thanks. Pilots manual 6-100. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Predator-78 Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Pilots manual 6-100. VHF R800L1 I read the manual explains the various commands, but I have not found the answer to my question. I want to know, two leaders of two groups of different flight, setting the same frequency can I send target acquired with the data link? Have any of you tried to see you receive the target is sent? sobek Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Yes it works. I thought i told you so 2 posts earlier. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Predator-78 Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Yes it works. I thought i told you so 2 posts earlier. Could you explain the procedure to set the radio? Simply set the frequency? I wonder also acquired the target with the data link that number to send the wingman must turn to the second target leader. Thanks CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700K 3.60 GHz - DDR4 64,0 GB - MSI RTX3080ti - Win 11 64bit
-Painter- Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 (edited) Simply set the frequency? correct. 1. Lock target 2. tune in the frequency of the 2nd flight or the "global"-frequency you have choosen (in that case the other leader has to switch to that frequency too!) 3. send your datalink to all 4. tune back the frequency of your flight For explanation: You can send DL to all DL-members which are in REC, WNGM or COM mode on your active frequency. You can not send a DL to somebody on another frequency. You have both to be tuned on the same frequency. Edited September 29, 2009 by -Painter- Regards REAPER 31 | Painter [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sobek Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I think 2 identical DL IDs on one frequency cause an error, apart from that, just tune to the same frequency and that's it. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
JG14_Smil Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Hello, I have a question to ask. Flight with an online group with DCS, our problem is that we have created two groups with two leaders. As the two leaders have different frequencies and can not transmit data with the data link, how can we solve the problem? Thanks you set a common channel to use between flights. When a flight leader needs to send to others not in their flight, they call to the other flight (in text or VOI) to switch to that freq. and send the data. Please use different frequencies in different flights as it is not good seeing the blinking icons all the time.
