trim works in training mission but not in real missions

Hi All,

I am using real flight model and no easy avionics. I get the trim working fine when I take over the training missions but if I quit the training and start a real mission then I have no trim function working. Why is this? Am I doing something stupid?

Thanks

Are you sure the mission isnt saved with "easy avionics/game mode"?

You could go to the options, Gameplay tab and enable the "Use these options for all missions" - it should ensure that you are using "Real" mode and Trim for all missions.

yes I had ticked the box saying use these settings for all missions. Even then it does not work. I get load up a training mission, use trim fine. Quit that mission and load up a proper mission e.g. the convoy hunt, then the trim doesn't work!

Any ideas?

I could bet that panzertards answer was the solution to your problem.....but if you already has ticked "Use these options for all missions" you let me speachless.

make sure to check both trim options too (Older and newer trimmer implementation) Just check it.

Maybe a track-file could help explain whats wrong - from convoy hunting for example.

Now I remember that I was Having some issue like you but was a Joy calibration problem.

Given that the new trimmer method comes into play when you recenter your stick.....it was my joy that didnt get the center because the calibration problem.

Once I get a ride on the calibration problem I get my trim function back again

Hope it helps

noticed my version is version 1 and is not patched. Could that be a problem.

Just checked everything again. Easy avionic and flight are NOT ticked in the options, tried it with and without the tick box for use these settings on all missions. Even tried editing the mission file and in mission options ticking the things i want and leaving easy avionics and flight un ticked. Saved and ran the file and again no trim. however, if I load up a training mission i have trim so its cannot be a joystick calibration problem. I edited the training mission to look at the specific mission options and they are the same as what I edited the other (convoy) mission file. Why can there be this difference. I clearly get trim in the training tracks as I can see the adjustment (in the trim data display - RCTRL+ENTER) after pressing T.

Is this a bug.

Maybe I should patch. Where do you get the options for the different trim methods in 1.1?

Thanks

Mark, you should definitively upgrade to 1.0.1. It fixes quite many issues, also problems with many missions - which could be part of this problem.

patched but still having trim problems

I patched this evening and tried the old and new trim method. I now hear the click when pressing T but I get no apparent trimming effect. I was trying the altitude mission. I take off put the nose down to accelerate and try to trim this but nothing happens. Also if I gently center the stick the heli will roll right over on its back. I want to try and get some forward stick trim but nothing appears to work.

I am on Win7 32 bit. Not sure if this is a problem?

I have attached a track of me trying to forward trim and the roll back when I center the stick.

Any ideas?

yes looks like the 1.01 patch reset need to set it back to sim mode.

still getting the same thing, even though I now hear the clicking noise of the trim. I see from another post that someone suggested that force feedback can interfere with the trim. I cannot see how it can work in training and not in the missions though. I wonder if disabling FF will help?

Your Track as provided by yourself in Post #11 (Post-Patch) was recorded/mission flown with Game Flight/Avionics Mode (as apparent with your track settings) which was the obvious cause of your Issues with the aforesaid track.

Not sure following your posts, but have you subsequently changed to the correct settings (Simulation Mode)? Assuming you have, edit the Producer.CFG file with Notepad++ to FF = False as you have mentioned and see if the problem still subsists.

If it does, post another track/screenshot of your SP GUI/Options/Gameplay screen so we can troubleshoot further.
