markbond Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 I see that there are controls to slew around a landing/search light but I cannot find the button key combo to turn on the light. I can control all the nav lights etc but I am sure I have seen a track with a light that illuminates the land/runway in front on the heli. How do I turn this on. I have tried RCTRL+L but that does not appear to work. Also cannot find a switch in the cockpit. Am I imagining it or does this light not exist? Thanks Mark

VMFA117_Poko Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 After switching it on you have to slew the spot light up with ";".
wickedpenguin Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Silly question: how effective would it be to set the Shkval slew and the landing light slew to the same controls? I can't really see one using both the Shkval and light in the same flight conditions (i.e. you're not going to light up targets at night 3 miles away with your little light, and you're not going to be using the Shkval when landing) so they would be used exclusively. Frederf Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Yeah, that would probably be a good idea, considered doing so myself. I can't think of a time when you'd want to use both at the same time.
Martillo1 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) It is a three positions switch. Click on it with left mouse button (or twice with right m.b.) and wait about 5 seconds for the lamp to spread. Be aware that at noon you will not see the light, try by night. I did that, Mode 1 on the x52 uses mini-stick for Shkval, mode 2 uses mini-stick for search light. Works great as I only use the search light for landing at night, and that low and slow, would not need my Shkval anyway.
