Feuerfalke Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 1st: Use normal fonts. We could read the whole post, so I guess nobody of us has a critical eye-problem. ;) 2nd: You don't have to make use of RAID in a matter of connecting 2 drives, since RAID is more than that and setting up falsely you might still have the wrong settings, so... 3rd: ...don't just say "Not for me", but read the thread and follow the procedures, test them and then come back with "Not solved" If that does not solve the problem, post your dxdiag-file, to give us at least some infos on your system and drivers. :) MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD

maxtow Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 please be patient with this friend of mine: language is ALWAYS a problem when trying to explain a problem. Still looking for a problem, BUT, IMHO chipset driver update obviously didn't solve the problem: still debugging with SATA ones, even if when Win7 is YET installed, i have some doubts drivers can correctly updated, because of some low-level kernel installation-time configuration. Stay tuned :pilotfly: Bye. Davide "MaxTow" OUT.

Panzertard Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 First a helpful tip for you; Processor: Intel® Core i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz The processor uses 8 cores now because of the Hyperthreading. You can disable Hyperthreading and you may get some better performance in DCS. Other games may be better with Hyperthreading ON - but for DCS it seems to be better with it OFF. Hyperthreading can normally be changed in your system BIOS settings. You must look for something in the BIOS setup that indicates "HT" or "Hyperthreading". We cannot tell you where it is, because it depends on what system you have - and we do not know all the systems in the world. So you must look for it. Okai? :) The other thing - Sound; Then we can see there may be a problem with the sounds drivers. Here's what DXDIAG tell's us; Sound Tab 1: The file ctaud2k.sys is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer. Sound Tab 2: The file ctaud2k.sys is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer. Sound can cause the type of stutter that you get in the game. You can do 2 tests to see if sound is part of the problem; 1. Get new drivers for your Soundsystem, which is WHQL certified. The driver download from the vendor / producer should tell you if it is WHQL certified or not. Always try to use WHQL drivers if you can find them. 2. Disable / Remove the sound card - and fly several test again with no Sound hardware. If you get no Lag or FPS stutter then we know the Sound system is part of the problem. Buona fortuna:) The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning

maxtow Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Well ... I'm forced to be VERY surprised about Panzertard suggestion: disabling HT in such processor seems like reducing a Ferrari to a Ford behaviour ! :-) Please heads up: I'm not talkng about Panzertard suggestion value, but I'm only surprised to be told Black Shark cannot take advantage by a common HT technology. Ok that's all about HT, but is unuseful to solve my friend's problem. Let's talk about audio drivers: obviously a legacy or misconfigured (misprogrammed) driver CAN slow down performances, BUT Spinter told me (by phone) there is a STUNT effect every 20/30 seconds and I think this cannot be addressed to a SINGLE driver or a IDE emulation SATA controller (mainboard vendors usually suggest to set IDE emulation to AVOID such problem, even if very low gap of performance can be registered). I would like to ask BS gurus if this can of problem can be addressed to this set of parameters (I mean: alltogether) - Windows 7 64 bits italian - Nvidia 64 bits driver - 8 cores: I'm not sure BS has been deeply tested in such an environment and IMHO 64bit, 8 cores development request very specific technics and technology. TIA for your kindly reply. Bye PS: maybe today i will try a different hardware setup with Win7 64bit Italian localization, with only a Nvidia GT9800 VGA card ... stay tuned.
