mrtube Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Hey guys, i justgot myself re installed, after a 6 month break, needless to say, i have forgotten most of my hard learned knowledge. my first problem is that as soon as touch and I mean the tiniest lightest touch my feet onto my rudder pedals, the helo immediately turns upside down and spins into the ground. I cant see anything wrong in the setup options, axis assigned is rz and the rudder function on my CH eclipse yoke works just fine ( I wanted to use my cougar hotas and rudder pedals instead while flying the Helo, as its more realsitic and intuitive) anyone have an idea what might be my issue? i have not managed to fly more than 100 metres yet!! cheers, Mark My rig: Asus P6D, watercooled, Intel i7920 cpu O/C to 4GHz, 6GB Mushkin redline PC3 DDR3 1800MHz memory, BFG TECH gtx 295 GPU. Conuk Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Mine did this earlier... Control and enter in the cockpit see if the inputs correspond to your rudder inputs. My pedals are mapped to z axis - same as cougar but work independant... Weird.
Speed_2 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Well, are you going at high speed, and then you touch the rudder pedals, hear the sound of something colliding, and then go out of control? If so, your rotors are colliding with each other. You can't use a lot of rudder at high speed. However, your description of "just barely touching" the rudders doesn't sound like this is your problem... arrogant, realism-obsessed Falcon 4 junkie
Panzertard Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Enable the "controls indicator" - RCTRL + ENTER It'll give you a clue about whats going wrong perhaps. EDIT; Duh - someone mentioned that already :chair: The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
mrtube Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 thx, will look tomorrow, it was happening right at start of instant action, which I was using to re familiarise. So was not going fast, it was not rotor strike, it was as if the rudder was suddenly slammed right over, even then, i have never seen the helo react that fast to a control input in the sim before... thx, Mark My rig: Asus P6D, watercooled, Intel i7920 cpu O/C to 4GHz, 6GB Mushkin redline PC3 DDR3 1800MHz memory, BFG TECH gtx 295 GPU. Nate--IRL-- Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 It is also possible that the joystick axis is also mapped to the pedals, so you could be getting pitch input from the rudders too. Check the Control mapping in the options. Be sure to select the correct mode, i.e. real or arcade, when setting control inputs. Nate My chopper did the same thing and it was the collective simultaniously mapped to the throttle that was the problem.
mrtube Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 Thanks guys, it appears to have been a combination of having two different controllers plugged in at the same time and loads of functions mapped to both rudders and hotas together.
