DCS&Lock On News Page

Hey Guys,

I planned to open an (first of all: free) website to present news about DCS and Lock On. I thought about using Joomla or Wordpress. I would be interested in you opinion. Is it worth to do this project? What name for it? (DSCUpToDate was an idea).

 

Furthermore I need some help to realize this project. It would be great to have one or more "editor" for this homepage. Your job is to find news (in Forums, direct from the Modders, and so on) and write an little article about it on the website.

I think thats why we have this site :P Lol There is the Announcements section which includes updates and what not posted by ED and moderators.

But we're not likely to use the Announcement section for things that aren't either actual ED releases, updates etcetera or at least products or services developed and offered by ED partners.

 

A central space that keeps track on interesting new mission releases, DCS in the media, and so on might be made to work.

I will try to find one or two hlepers and simply try it. I goining to set up the Website on a free server and when there is enough reputation i will rent a server and buy a domain.

I think it might fall under "fair use" on the DMCA and equivalent EU laws, but I'm not a lawyer so I'll see if I can find that out for you.

Fahrenheit, the official ED/TFC logos are copyrighted and limited to official use. As such, they are not open for posting on your blog. We do appreciate your interest and support and will try to help where possible. Best of luck with your project.

first thing i saw was a pop up add which is slightly annoying.

 

seems like a great place for all the latest news in one plaza

I find this a very good idea.:thumbup: While the forum is certainly very helpful, useful information tends to be scattered and it gets hard to keep up when you are not able to visit for a few days.

Depending on the type of information you mean by "useful", you can feel free to register an account with and help expand the EagleWiki. Link at the top of your screen. :)

 

Standard wiki courtesies apply - big changes should be discussed on the relevant talk pages and it is of course patrolled.
