Gday Everyone This is my first thread so sorry if it is in wrong place :helpsmilie::P

I am having a problem (not a bug so i didn't put in it that Forum) With my joystick.I have mapped it with DCS using the logitech Gaming software (it is a Logitech Extreme3D pro) And for an I thought i had worked until i tried to fly which ended up with Over revving it. It did this because i have mapped it to full Power and Idle does anyone know how to fix it and the correct buttons to map it 2 in DCS it has an extremely large amount of Choices so I am confused.Does anyone have this controller and what did they do?

not sure i understand your problem. your statement above is written a little confusing. what "over revved" and what is mapped to full power/idle?

are you talking about your throttle?

also - the keymapper in DCS is quite good - i doubt you even have to use logitechs gaming software. why add unnecessary steps which could complicate things?

perhaps try to re state your problem

Sorry a bit tired.... I was mapping the throttle contol on joystick with the DCS throttle. But instead of being able to smoothly increase the power it will jump straight to full power or idle. I have tried to map it to DCS but am not sure of what button to map it to as they are all just random numbers or Letters to me

You don't controle the throttle in the hellicopter. It should be in "auto". You should program the throttle on you joystick as the "collective". That controles the amount of lift from the rotors. I hope this helps.

Prophet is right.

The Ka-50 has various electronic measures controlling the power output of the engines. You as a pilot do not control throttle - you control the collective (that is, the "collective" angle of attack of all rotor blades, as opposed to "cyclic" control (the stick) that adds or subtracts alpha depending on where in the cirquit the blade is to achieve the same control you get by ailerons and elevators on fixed-wing). Your startup sequence is therefore to set your throttles to Auto (PgUp twice), and then use your collective (mapped to your stick's throttle) to set an angle. There's a dial below the artificial horizon showing you what your collective is currently set to. The governors then set your engine output to a setting that places rotor RPM within nominal range (the red marks on the rotor RPM gauge, also left side of the front panel).

So your stick throttle should be linked to the Flight Control Collective under the red-marked "Axis Commands" line in the control drop-down menu in the simulator's options screen.

EDIT:

Could you perhaps record a very short track file to show the behaviour, to be sure we're understanding each other correctly? Just start a flight, press Ctrl-Enter to open the axes monitor, and manipulate your stick throttle a bit. Then after exiting, click "save track" and find it in the Missions\Tracks\ folder.

My best advide..... shut down the logitech software that automatic launch your profiles every time windows start... if you have this running while you play blackshark you will properbly have problems configure your joystick as you like.

For exampel i had the problem that every time i dropped chaff i would fire a rocket.... and it took me a long time to figure out that the logitech software were the problem since it had automatic loaded some basic setup... but as i my self inside the game set up the keys i wanted some were mapped 2 times but with different keys.. ;-)

Aye, I never use those software suites for any of my peripherals. My Razer keyboard and mouse, saitek stick and rudders, they're all running on pure Plug and Pray and have never caused setup issues in any games. And since all buttons and all functions still work... There's just no point in all that profiler software.

(Though that might change when I finally bother getting a HOTAS. Thinking a twin-throttle one for the Warthog.)

I produced a very proficient Logitech Extreme 3D Pro profile almost a year ago. Regardless of what everyone else here thinks I prefer mapping all buttons in Logitech Game Profiler or whatever it's called.

I'll see if I can find my old post through a search of the forum, maybe it can give you some hints. But remember ALL axes were mapped in game using DCS' own axis-mapping. (works best this way imo).

edit: I found a thread where I linked to my old post with the profile. The main reason I prefer using the profiling software is that I can make use of shift-buttons. This is especially useful for a joystick like the Extreme 3D Pro where the number of buttons isn't all that great. If you want, please have a look at my profile for inspiration rather than the hope of using it instantly - I would instead recommend you to create your own profile because using some one else's is just really hard and annoying for the most part.

The last thread this discussion came up:

The thread where I posted my profiel:

edit again: err.. I just noticed that, in fact, this profile was actually created in-game without the use of the profiling software... Forgetful me.
