Fahrenheit92 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Hey Guys, i started to model a MiG-23 Flogger. Here I will post all updates. I worked on the cockpit today. (Still needs some improvement) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
flanker1 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 nice idea, i can´t wait to see "how to flog a mig" :-) all the best!
monotwix Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I know how to do a face lift. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
joey45 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Looking very good. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Fahrenheit92 Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 Cuted out flying surfaces [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Fahhh Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Looking good so far, the Flogger is a gorgeous birt. By the way you know you're modelling the bomber variant MiG-23BN right? The fighter versions have a totally different nose, accomodating a big radar antenna.
Fahrenheit92 Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 I know, i will try to moddel both Versions so its a bit more interessting to fly ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
flanker1 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 very nice to see that you are also modelling the mig-27 (i guess?) or is it the 23bn modell? if you need pictures, i can n provide you with links.
Fahrenheit92 Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 Its the 23BN, the Fighter Version will be included ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
flanker1 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 (edited) one word: cool!! 2 versions, will you use the mig-27 slot for the 23bn model? http://www.bredow-web.de/Luftwaffenmuseum/Kampfjets/MiG-23_BN/mig-23_bn.html Edited January 28, 2010 by flanker1
Aeroscout Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Are you going to make both flyable and unflyable versions of the mod? I would love to have this simply replace the stock model. I don't really have to fly it. I hope someday all the aircraft will be improved, even if it's not too detailed, just something a bit better than what we have now. Maybe after FC 2.0 such a project might take off. Great job! Aero DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
Fahrenheit92 Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 Nope, there will be a flyable Version on the Su-27 Version and a non flyable on the Mig-23 Slot. (Two different Mod Packages) You can chose the Version via the the Skins ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Fahhh Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Great! By the way, if you need photos i may provide you with some, and there is also an airforce museum only 40km from here, and there are both MiG-23BN's and 23MLD's, so if there is a specific detail you wanna model, i may go and shoot it for you... As soon as the temperatures rise... -15 to -20 now Grrr 1
flanker1 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 @fahhh: very good idea! :-) and i agree with aeroscout. . . great job and idea!

Fahhh Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 You may start here: http://bgspotters.net/constructor.php?c=search&subm=3&form_AicraftGenericType=%CC%E8%EA%EE%FF%ED%20%C3%F3%F0%E5%E2%E8%F7%20%CC%E8%C3-23 There are lots of MiG-23 shots from the Bulgarian Air Force, some show quite good the nozzles, and the gear(which by the way may give you a hard time modelling, because it's a quite complex system...)
Fahrenheit92 Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 Thx for the link, I will start with the gear this weekend ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
