Prophet_169th Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 For those who have paid for a download. Will we get a CD when they are available? Or do we need to pay for a CD version?
Chicote Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Suspect release of a non-Starforce protected download is probably the only way forward from here.
Conuk Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 what I dont understand is I thought a `Lock On` add on (or whatever) could not be distributed in the `West` - or is it because a publisher is not allowed to do this - a `reseller` is ? If I had known I might have waited for the CD ... although I dont think I could have read all the reports on 1.1 and be left out ! I think it would be good to somehow get a reduction on a cd version if you have bought a download version ... then I would buy another. Thus ED would get 2 lots of money - not sure how this would be implemented though.
Prophet_169th Posted April 13, 2005 Author Posted April 13, 2005 Yeah that was my understanding. But I think, UBI just didnt choose to continue to distribute. I am not sure if ED couldnt distribute, just that they didnt have a distributor besides UBI.
Slammin Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 That's assuming the CD version will be any different than the downloaded version as far cp is concerned. I mean, I can package my files on a cd and sell it to you and it would be no different from a downloaded version :-) I have not heard anything stating the cd version is any different from the downloaded version. Prophet_169th Posted April 13, 2005 Author Posted April 13, 2005 Me either. I know I can backup the downloaded file to a CD. And I have no problem with that. I was just hoping for a version without SF. But just hoping.
ArmoredPanda Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 i thought the CD version would be rid of the activision thing?
Guest Cali Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 i thought the CD version would be rid of the activision thing? That's what I heard also, although I haven't had a problem with it yet (knock on wood)
Prophet_169th Posted April 14, 2005 Author Posted April 14, 2005 I have yet to have problems with SF either. But I dread the day they start, and I would like to avoid it if possible.
