Deactivation

Is there a 1 2 3 deactivation step some where not mared in a two or three page tread. :book:

 

I have dual OS and will be moving BS from VISTA to W-7 and don't want a lot of headace from SF. :music_whistling: :helpsmilie: :)

 

Or will I just be ask if I want to deactivate when I do a compete un-install.

When I switched to W7 I just uninstalled and used one of the 8 activations. After that made a backup copy of the main Ka-50 folder. Whenever I have problems or need to reinstall, I just copy the backup Ka-50 folder. As long as there is no need to format and reinstall the OS, I'm not worried about running out of activations.

 

Maybe this is not the best way though it will take decades for me to use all 8 activations.

I realy don't like starforce. I ran out of actavations last year. I got the Down loaded rus version when 1st releast. Came with 3 actvations only. Haven been able to get the deactivation to work yeat. My opion is that it is $&@$;. There shuld not be a limit on installs.

The real problem is... "What happens if I run out of activations/deactivations?"

 

If we contact ED do we get additional activations/deactivations for free?

I actually backup and reformat my pc on a regular basis, which means I can't simply reinstall Black shark every time I reformat It's a PITA. I definitely agree that I should be able to reinstall and play any game I paid good money for, as many times as I want. I think deactivation and then reactivation is the way to go, however from what I understand deactivation's are limited as well. Am I wrong? And if not, then Why? There should be 1, 1st time activation and unlimited reactivation's provided the DRM was previously deactivated. Or how about a savekey's app like the one for lomacFC? But then you have to reinstall on the exact same PC, Thats really not a good solution either. I would rather rebuy this software than have it subject to rampant piracy, I can say this for no other publisher:music_whistling:. I want to see ED do well in all they're endeavors, but the DRM is a pain:(

When you say limited, are they limited how? Limited by times you can install and remove the simulation/program?

I believe that when you run out of activation you can contact ED and you will have more activations, at least I think that for FC was that way, I run out of activations and just sent an email, they gave me another number of activations. So I don't understand the limit you are talking about.

It's a bit of a pain when you want to install the program and you see you run out of activations and have to wait for it. Other than that it's OK.

I can't find the thread right now, But ED stated that they may not grant more activations upon request, and if they do happen to give you more activations you should consider it a bonus. They said there was enough activations for a lifetime:lol: Mine or my hamsters? I really need to know how to do this "Deactivate"
