The keypad views in LOMAC depend on numlock being on. Now I can’t find and Foxy command for that.

I can;

· Enable numlock by pressing it before launching LOMAC (not geeky enough)

· Change the keys for views (defeats the whole point of the Cougar)

· Ask you guys what you did……:smilewink:

Here is the profile a few of us in the 104th use.

Hope it will help you.

Just download and extract into your C:\Program Files (x86)\HOTAS\Files folder and place the Lomac.jpg file somewhere you can find it easily. Files.rar

I change keysetting from original settings all the time because i'm using an AZERTY keyboard instead of a regular QWERTY. It's no big deal.

- Change your keysetup the way you want it to.

- Make a profile according to this setup.

- Make a backup of the game config file that contains your new key setup.

- Put this is a zip together with the stick profile and save it somewhere.

Next time you need to do a re-install, you have everything by hand to get up in the air in no time again.

Seriously, you should read the Foxy help files. They're encyclopaedic.

But anyway, the numpad keys have their own names, i.e. KP0 is the numpad zero with numlock on.

Cheers Guys. I am using a heavily modified profile with everything sort of working, although LOMAC does mess up the ant elevation axis now and then. I will take what you say on board. Still learning to program the Cougar

<104th> yeah, cheers. havent dissected it yet. need a fews hours of "other half distraction". something shiny methinks.

<polecat> i have a manual calib file. no spikiog in the pots. maybe i can tune down the sensitivity in game before i start faffing in the cougar control panel and make a game specific profile.

Just re-read this post whilst having Korgy open and the keypad "0" is KP0 as Kaiser said, but there is no function that i can see for the same key with NUMLOCK on. Am i being dense?

Or would "NUML KP0" work? I cant find any specific reference to this in the docs.

You are dense...:D

"NUML KP0" does not work.

First, KP0 is already the key with Numlock on so no need for Numlock

Second, if you don't have the Numlock key on, KP0 will return INS instead (you can see that in the Key-tester in Foxy). But that does not mean that your Cougar will generate an INS key if you programmed a KP0 and you turn Numlock off by accident. It will still generate a KP0.

But you can use the KP0 in combo with SHF, CTL and/or ALT (and even Left or Right if needed like in LSHF or LALT). More then enough options.

You can also work with USB codes for every key. For KP0 this is 62, with Numlock off, KP0 will still return 62 as USB code. INS is 49 and is the real INSERT key.

Just use the keytester to see what key a certain keypress generates. It should be no problem if you have a (standard) QWERTY keyboard. Things get a lot more complicated when you have anything else then a QWERTY keyboard. Pressing or programming a key turns out different keys and even in Foxy this leads to problems because part will work the same as your Windows setup, part will not. If you have anything else then a standard QWERTY keyboard, you need to change the ingame key-setup to gain full control and even then you can have a glitch here and there. The USE KEYBOARD command does not work 100% and it creates other problems.

But if you have a QWERTY keyboard, life is somple and good, don't make it complexer then it is...:smartass:

I see what you mean. I was just being lazy, trying to map LOMACS default view keys to the Cougar. The # for comms gave me some trouble as this key, (on uk keyboards) doesnt exist in Korgy. To get around that i simple changed the assigned key in game. I can do this for the views.

I just cant see why they missed the Num lock function out. After all, it does affect the keypad functionality.

Buy TIR...is that geeky enough?

;)

I mean, why mapping view commands on Cougar, Trim Hat button should act as a trim only and the only "view command" I've mapped to a my Cougar LOFC profile is used for TIR centering.

I have one ;)

No, what I am attempting is to use the H1 with (S3 in) for extenal views;

< padlock threat missile

> padlock threat aircraft

^ padlock my launched missile to target

v rear view

Then H1 center resets to view forward. They work as long as i remember to enable NUM Lock beforehand. In the heat of battle......fumble fingers, etc.

This way, i hope to get the best of both worlds and increase my SA with Trackir + custom, informative padlocked views.
