harock Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 once i have uncaged the shival , is there a way to recage it with out resetting the whole system? is there a way to have the gun manually aim at an angle, like slightly down. without tracking the ground. fixed angle to the airframe? thanks
MTFDarkEagle Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I can't answer your first question (since I didn't have to do it yet:P), but the second I can: On the targeting display control panel (where you select turn to target and moving target etc (if you dont know what I mean I can make a screenie for you)), there are 2 rotaries. One is a VHF radio selector, and the other (the bottom one) is what you are looking for. Set that rotary to "fix" (1x right click), and that fixes the cannon. Hope this helps :) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
harock Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 well, i didn't know about the "fix" switch, but, that seems to just lock it straight foreward, the same as if i switched to manual. i guess wahat im looking for might be found with the shval system. what i want it to do , is fix the camera to the airframe, and not track the ground. that way if i turn the aircraft to a 180 degree heading , the camera is still allighned with my nose. also, how do i get back to the stock takeoff nav hud, after using weapons, without resetting system. thanks for the reply
MTFDarkEagle Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 In that case I dont really understand what u mean exactly.. :S On you second question: No. You cant go to standard hud without resetting system. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Prophet4no1 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 The only way to returne to NAV on the hud is to reset. Aside from the ABRIS, all the systems tie togethor for the most part. If there is another way I have not read about it yet. I also do not think there is a way to lock the Shkval display. I'm not really sure why you would need to do this any way. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CAT_101st Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 well part 1 is a bet hard to explain but has to be dun from nav mode. every thing reset. I know there are a few threads in the forum discribing how to de it. Part 2 just uncage the schval and slew it down and don't grnd stablize it. But it might drift a little. The schval won't lock in a fixed position once uncaged. I also agree with Propht4no1 Y Y Y Y. Frederf Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 1. No, Shkval reset requires the entire WCS reset. 2. No, in fixed cannon mode the cannon is fixed at one point.
harock Posted February 13, 2010 Author Posted February 13, 2010 Ok, well.. One more is there an ez way to unlock a target once youve locked it. Right now i press lock while slewing shval, but thats a pain. ThNks alot guys for taking time to help
Prophet4no1 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I think that's the only way as well. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
26-J39 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 When using cannon in fixed position shkval can be turned on with the P key. Automatic tracking/gun sight
