My track IR 5 has been acting a bit funky. It will get very erratic and loose connection with the Pro clip. I have noticed that if I go into the setup software and click the TrackClip and then go back to TackClipPro it works fine. Any idea what is causing this?

not real sure, haven't seen that myself.

q. have you got it connected direct to pc or via a hub, if so is it powered?

q. have you made any other changes lately, added extra usb divices etc?

if all else fails maybe reinstall the software and go from there.

nothing to do with what the camera is picking up is it ?

mine picks up windows behind and in the corner unless I turn down the sensitivity throught the software....

I turned the light behind me off. That had no effect. Only thing that fixed it was changint the type of device to track and turning it back. As far as the plug, I had then both hooked to the same USB port with the pass through dongle that came with it. Then I plugged each into differnet USB ports. No effect. It does not happen all the time. It's totally random though. It either will do it from boot up or not at all.

It's no lighting issue. Lots of people including me started to see erratic trackir movement since they moved to W764bit or any 64nit operating system. Just google "trackir not stable" and you'll see. I've tried everything and can't get rid of those microstutters and view instabillity. It was silky smooth with vista 32. So, yeah you not alone. Hopely next software will fix this issue

When it happens, mine goes nuts. Like looks at a funky angle, and many times locks in that spot. The connection light flashes on the main unit too, like it gets and looses contact with the pro clip. But if I change it to the hat clip and then back. Silky smooth again. this is not a constant thing. It's happeded three or four times so far, but is still very odd.

I was having this issue with TIR4pro + clip on Vista 64. Phenom 2 X3. In my case it was caused by an aggressive overclock (DCS was the only game that had any issues). It seemed to occur only under high loads (2/3 cores fully loaded). After reducing my FSB and slightly bumping the HT/SB voltage the issue went away.
