Lanzfeld Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) New to this so please bear with me. I am not using "Modman" as I have not learned much about it yet so I am installing several mods manually. Tweak, HD cockpits, and trees for example. Now a few mods have an "Addon.lma3" file that goes in the programs root directory. If I am installing several mods then which one do I put in there or do I need this at all? Is it for "Modman"? Many thanks P.S. The Tweak mod is a little strange to me. I installed it and changed the graphics config back to my resolution (1920 x 1080) and aspect 1.777777777. To use this mod I just set game visiblity in options to "tweak" or whatever and put the other settings in options to what I want? Edited March 8, 2010 by Lanzfeld
Sarge55 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Not sure which "tweak" mod you are refering to but if I may, I suggest you try to use Modman. It's very easy to use, saves backups for you and most mods (not all) are designed to be installed using Modman. Tweak, HD cockpits, and trees for example. Now a few mods have an "Addon.lga3" file that goes in the programs root directory. If I am installing several mods then which one do I put in there or do I need this at all? Is it for "Modman"? Many thanks P.S. The Tweak mod is a little strange to me. To use this mod I just set game visiblity in options to "tweak" or whatever and put the other settings in options to what I want? Addon.lga3 is a modman file and you shouldn't have to worry about it. However, I encourage you to use modman as it makes things very easy for 99% of mods made for lockon. I do not know anything about the FPS tweak mod other than that it adds a visibility setting. I do not have the tweak installed as I find it confusing and does some things to my install that I do not understand. To use modman, just open 'mods installer" and click "add" to add an addon to the list. Click on the addon (it should be red) and then click "install." It will think for a second, and then turn green. That means it's installed. Yellow means files are shared between mods or is just partially intalled. you can also install file-by-file using the file-by-file list at the bottom right. Hope this helps! Toast Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I download the addon into the modman addon folder but it will not show up in the list. It says no addon found. Can anyone please help I am so frustrated now, and everyone says it is so easy. Toast Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. and When All Else Fails, Aviate More :pilotfly:
Ells228 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 1. Ok, so within Modman, click on the Add button (after selecting LockOn from the menu). Then browse to the zip or rar file for the mod you downloaded. This will then add it to your mods list. 2. Be aware that some mods want you to untick the Install with CDDS box, so check the text box at the bottom of the left panel when you select your mod. Click on the mod listed and then on the right hand box click Install. 3. The mod will be loaded, backing up your exisiting files. 4. Fly LockOn and your mod files will be active. To Uninstall the mod: 1. Open Modman selecting LockOn 2. Click on your mod on the left hand panle 3. Click on uninstall on the right hand panel 4. If you want to delete the mod from your mods list click on the Del button on the left hand panel. Sorry I don't have Modman loaded on this PC or I'd post screenshots. Any other problems, please post.
Toast Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Thanks for your reply, I am going to try a fresh install of modman when I get home and hope that works. I was doing as you said and modman was not able to see the file at all. zipped or unzipped I would click and add and go to the folder and it would appear empty. If I have more problems I will post some screenshots of my own. Toast Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. and When All Else Fails, Aviate More :pilotfly:
Brit_Radar_Dude Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 One vital thing for everyone to know if they've never used MODMAN to load up Mod Packs - it expects the packs to be zipped, so don't go unzipping them yourself! It does it for you. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....
Ells228 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Hmm I've never had any problem with modman seeing a file before. Make sure you select Flaming Cliffs and point to the folder you downloaded the mod file into.
