I'd love to see what DCS could do with a Harrier simulation. To me, it fits within the close-combat aspects of both A-10 and Black Shark.

Carbon Fibre Death Provider!

Harrier would be mint :) a TM Harrier would have a quality throttle, lots of levers :)

F22 would be number one in this poll if people thought it was possible.. I believe.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

No question. Raptor. How about a squad of Raptors with the flight lead

vectoring a pair of X-45's.

The combination of uber avionics and an ultra high AoA envelope, thurst

vectoring, steath, super cruise, AA/AG...

...anyway, that's just me. I'll love trapping in the Hornet, at night, in a storm,

with battle damage...ala Fleet Defender.

Well, it is not on the poll, but I would love to have the AV-8B Harrier.

I think it would be not difficult to implement and development time would be much shorter than creating a new platform and systems from scratch since the AV8-B have many common systems and weapons with the A-10C.

This aircraft would allow us to have carrier Ops and a lot of fun.

And it is a subsonic one. The "tinny" scenario of the Caucasus we have now would be really small for Mach 2 aircraft :P

A lot of docs have been recently declassified about this aircraft.

VTOL, STOL... would be real fun and challenging :pilotfly:

Hi! I'd like to share with you my wishes for the next DCS:) Gentlemen! F-117!

There are very few games where you can fly a F-117 in combat. Last game is probably the USAF. Here are the reasons why you really should think about this aircraft in the next DSC:

1. Airplane rare in games, simulators, virtually no real common.

2. F-117 is a very interesting machine.

3. Despite the designation F plane is bomber.

4. Any tricks on this plane are particularly difficult and dangerous.

5. There is no stability. It is used in a revised system of fly-by-wire.

6. Years often at night :) well at sunrise and sunset :)

7. Undetectable by radar :D

8. It has a very interesting history, including was tested in area 51 :)

9. And this looks amazing :)

Guys! Vote for the F-117 ... This was a great machine.

Arthur from Poland ;P

7. Undetectable by radar :D

Since when? :)

Anyway that plane would be so boring.... only 2 bombs.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

You're right HerrKaputt. The F-16 System Fly-by-wire was used for the first time.

Bobero, so only 2 bombs ... but it only fuels the game:)

Do you get that? Start at 1:00 am, an hour after dark fly undetected by radar, observing the target, fires, and you come back:) as someone out to get you to dodge the various stunts is hellishly difficult. I say more, such an aircraft as we can detect it's kaputt ...

Can you imagine the operation "Desert Storm": D

I think the F-117 would just be boring. Nothing new, just another close air support/attack aircraft, only with less weapons and not even a gun.

EDIT: I do agree that the F-117 is an awesome and interresting aircraft, but that is not enough to make a good game that will be fun to play. Variety is the key to that, we've done the CAS mission now with both BS and A-10C, an aircraft with another type of mission too (air-to-air, dogfighting or something) will be needed to keep the DCS series interresting and fun.

Matt stated in a recent interview that the next plane would be a popular American fixed wing aircraft. I wonder what is the most popular American fixed wing aircraft. I assume he meant popular American fixed wing military aircraft. I don't recall his exact quote.

I'm guessing it's the F16. It'd be great if it were the Hornet, but I wonder if multi-player ops might be hindered by the complexity of carrier ops? I guess land-based Marine Aviation would fit the bill for the Hornet, but barring that, I think it's the Falcon. Oh, it could be the Strike Eagle, but I guess the operative word "popular" might exclude that plane, plus it's a two-seater. Is DCS ready to implement two-seaters?

I'd say all of the likely US fixed wings can be considered 'popular'.

We don't know how he meant it. Also he didn't say THE most popular or did he?

Actually he said, and I quote: "a very popular US fixed-wing aircraft". So you're correct. He did not say "the most popular American fixed wing aircraft". Does it count that I said I don't recall his exact quote? No matter. Here's the link:

And where is the "popular Fixed-Wing" rating list?

Popular to simmers?

Popular to military brass?

Popular to the pilots

Popular to the maintenance crews?

popular to the rifleman on the ground?

I guess each of this groups would have a very different "popular" favourite.

The key would be to know from wich list is he drawing his conclusions. ;)

He did mention that there will be lots of happy flight simmers did he not?

I can't say what list he's looking at, but I would put my money on that list being reflective of what of "popular to simmers". After all, he is talking about a product and it's main audience in the interview (us simmers). Otherwise your list could go on:

Popular to Congressmen who have military factories in their districts.

Popular to CPU makers who know our sims are CPU dependent.

Popular to GPU makers who think simmers are suckers for eye candy.

Popular with You Tube because it means more instructional videos will be uploaded.

Popular with manufacturers of HOTAS systems.

Popular with manufacturers of toilet paper (so explosive diarrhea no longer means one has to get up from an online COOP).

You get my point.

It could be the F/A-18E, because he also said "but based on our customers feedback, we are confident there will be a lot of very happy flight simmers."

Doesn't necessarily mean anything since flight simmers will be happy in any case - whether it's going to be F-16 or F-18 or F-xx :megalol:

Customer feedback in a poll where three of the four aircraft were completely out of the question? :P

If its a Hornet, I think its going to be a legacy Hornet.

I don't care if next DCS is F/A-18E, F/A-18C or F-16C. I'm glad it will be fixed wing multi role aircraft.:joystick:
