Can someone at Eagle Dynamics let us know which HOTAS system they would prefer we use so I know which one to buy. I have the G940 which is a great stick if your flying IL2, but if your flying DCS Black Shark and Lockon I would like to know which stick they are testing so I can reduce the number of compatibility issues. As it stands now I can not get the G940 to work well enough without having to make so many trade-off in settings to get the stick to work. To much center freedom in the G940 when using force feedback. So again, I am asking ED to tell us which HOTAS system they will support moving forward so I know which HOTAS system to buy.:helpsmilie:

If you are patient enough wait until June 2010.

Thrustmaster will release the new HOTAS Warthog and that will be a masterpiece of engineering, thats for sure.

It will come with excellent precision (HALL-Sensor technology ), many switches, buttons, dual engine sliders and programming possiblities.

It is very promising and will be hopefully better than any HOTAS Joystick which has ever been built.

At this time we dont have much information about the Warthog, but you can check the Website of Thrustmaster from time to time.

There might be some more info in a short time period : http://www.thrustmaster.com

I doubt you will get an official reply from them regarding a recommendation.

Your choices in new high end sticks are limited. Initial reviews of the X65 are good. Personally im very tempted by it but luckily do not have to make a decision soon due to other real life commitments. If you can hold out to see what TM come out with then I would do that.

Why do you keep saying June? Are you testing for them?:joystick:

I'll laugh if it came out in August...

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

That's funny. First they release a product which resembles more an effect of work of former tampon designers, then they will release a decent one and everyone will be in awe :)

Well, for a short time i was unhappy with the Cougar too.

The spring system was too stiff, the cheap pots were not precise after a while, but after all it is a beauty and completely made of metal.

A replica of the original F-16 HOTAS.

I bought it when it was released and after a few months i modded the complete spring system.

Since then i am very happy to have invested some money and a little time to mod it.

I am sure that Thrustmaster learned from its faults and the flash animation on their website is promising maximum precision. HALL sensor technology is the key.

A few Cougar owners invested in HALL Sensor Mods and they are still happy with the beast after years of useage. So lets just wait and be patient.

I am sure, it will be awsome.

Plus poor gimbal design -> axis play :music_whistling:

@Thunderbird:

What lightning said and probabyl it will feature no gimbal but a "mechanism" nd sensor setup similar to tha of a T16000

Personally I'm highly suspicious if real-life gimbal mechanism can be successfully replaced by a single helical spring...

Ferrite choke cores work on the X-65F to drastically reduce interference, particularly with the twist axis. It should have them built into the cables, especially the end that plugs into the stick, but you can do this yourself. I'm using a bunch of small ones, but a single large cheap ring one would probably work with that cable wrapped around it a few times to get a similar effect.
