Downey Jr. Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 ok so anyone using x-52 hotas...how did you configure your weapon release especially for firing rockets like on the A-10?? Because it seems extremely sensitive, I fire a trillion of them with a tap and run out of rockets. It's slightly better on the keyboard if I tap it but still fires insane random amounts of rockets...how does this work? I don't want to fire 2 trillion rockets at a truck if I can avoid it ;) ralt-space are the keys i believe unless Im missing something I tried everything ripple quantity (which I assumed were for the mk bombs anyways) HALP MEEE!! ....btw having a blast on Flaming Cliffs 2 ...didn't think I'd like the simplified stuff, but it reminds me of the good old days of Janes ATF or EF2000 or anyother sim besides Falcon and BS ;)
Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 I've been trying to figure this out too as changing salvo size or ripple quanity doesn't seem to help.... I could have sworn I was able to control the number of rockets per trigger press in FC1.12....
Downey Jr. Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 ok I figured it out...its all in the way you program your buttons...you need to go into advanced commends if you own a x52 and program in the press window the ralt-space VERY quickly...tap it you should have a .100 delay on the space release this way you can release a pair of rockets!...not sure if this could affect anything else but dropping bombs there was no delay after pressing weapon release not sure either if you can group more rockets or maybe just go with salvo mode (not tried that yet) but now you can easily release the least amount of rockets every time you fire
Snacko Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Did that affect your firing of Mavericks? You are supposed to have to hold the release button down for a few seconds to fire a Mav. How does it work if you have a macro set to .1 sec delay? How does it work if you have a macro set to .1 sec delay? oh yeah it did, I posted this in the bug thread but forgot to mention that here... you are correct one can't fire a maverick like that so I created 2 weapon release buttons...kinda a pain but I just pinkie clutched the fire button for mavericks... its a temporary solution but I can live with it...I realize that with so many aircraft in lockon that ED models we're gonna get quirks here and there. As long as it now works more as intended I'm cool with it.
Sarge55 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Another option would be to program the fire / release functions in game like the Axis commands. I don't use SST and I have no problem squeezing off short bursts of rockets using the trigger and it doesn't affect how the Mavricks are fired. Just a thought. Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Downey, I have a G940 and had the same issue as you. The way I fixed it is by programming my joystick button for "weapon release" directly from the in-game controls menu instead of programming lalt-space in the the Logitech software. Maybe doing something similar will work for you..... Cheers.
RipKirby Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Same with x-52: Programming ALT+SPACE does not work, in game mapping works. Very strange!
nomdeplume Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I simply programmed it as a regular keypress for my X52, i.e. click in the space under Fire = ... and pressed RAlt+Space. Haven't had any issues controlling burst length, I just tried and fired 2 rockets in my first go, and 4 on the second. Not like it's very useful anyway, rockets aren't exactly precision munitions... the only time it's helpful to fire such a small number of rockets is with WP, and they fire at a lower rate anyway.
