aviador Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 be sure its not an opengl issue........ try "dcs-max" and you will see that the game also works in opengl mode. this game has really problems with amny minor issues ..... some cant start the game, only because an usb stick is connected, i also tried more than 30 hours to get the game working. the game itself works in multiplayer and in singleplayer mode here. single player only when i use dcs-max. with the normal launcher.exe, i cant start the game ... nerver saw the main menue. lock on fc2 works perfect. im waiting for the patch now and i hope that i can use my fully paid game after 1, 2, 3 or 4 month. regards andi What and where is dcs-max?
JG11Preusse Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 What and where is dcs-max? start google, copy and paste dcs-max and you know everything :) http://hifi-sims.com/component/remository/Downloads/Black-Shark/Tools/DcsMax.html

aviador Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 I have a personal patch that completely solves the problem as follows. 1. I have FSX at max detail 2. I go to the first menu at FSX eg Free Flight which has a an image of your aircraft revolving in the menu 3. I then go to BS and the menu comes up correctly at 160 by 1050 I slect my missionor campaign and fly with the FSX menu supposedly in the background but the sound is completely blocked out by BS and the flight performance is unaffected. 4 Most of important of all when I finish flying I return to the menus AND THEY REMAIN AT 1680 BY 1050.
Feuerfalke Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 modern computers have a hdmi connection :) HDMI and DVI use the same standards, transfer-rates and hardware. Besides the different plugs the only difference is, that the HDMI transfers audio-signals, which only a few graphics-cards are capable of, and the HDMI-chipset including a hardware copy-protection (HDCP). Your choice, if this is an advantage to pay for. All notebooks we have at our home at the moments have this feature ..... noone looked for it, they just have it.
Feuerfalke Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 (edited) You use a standalone monitor on your notebooks? Anyway, I though we were speaking about the IP's setup, here? He either has a notebook with an ATI 4670, so he's probably forced to either use HDMI or VGA or he has a desktop PC with the ATI 4670 so he'd require a new graphics card to use HDMI connection. As I got the impression we're talking about a desktop PC, that would be one hell of an investment to use fency new plugs for little to none advantage over DVI. Actually I'm using two desk top coputers one XP the other Win7 and a switcher between the two for the Samsung monitor and the keyboard and mouse. The joystick is USB so easy to move over. I run BS on both but the 4670 ATI works much better than the Nvida 6000. The problem, now happily solved, lies somewhere in the realm of drivers or perhaps the BS program. I think the latter is highly unlikely since I have the identical problen with LockOn FC2
aviador Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 One final point. The great advantage of using FSX is that you can minimize the menu page and it and the sound disappear in Win7. I'm sure its there somewhere but I now leave it on all day just in case I want to fly either BS or FC2
Distiler Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 be sure its not an opengl issue........ try "dcs-max" and you will see that the game also works in opengl mode. The simulator uses directx. JG11Preusse Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 The simulator uses directx. Dcs-max just bypasses the opengl UI and let you launch a mission directly (directx). what i heard is, that dcs-max bypasses only the mainmenue. i also only can start bs with dcs max in singleplayer. when i use the normal desktopicon, it will produce a launcher.exe error. tested 3 different opengl driver versions. all in all i have the same openglversion now, as it is installed at our second computer with same windows7 and same viedeocard family (hd4650 and hd4670). on one computer it starts and on the other one it dont starts. on the computer, where it dont starts, i installed lock on fc2 before, wich works perfect. on the other computer i installed only black shark. i wait for the patch now and under normal circumstances bs will also start on the firstcomputer, as lock on fc2 does alltime.
aviador Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 Did I metion that the problem is only with single player for both BS and FC. I should also add that running in XP mode doesn't help though it is necessary for Flanders Fields and TOT Kursk 1943.
609 Avatar Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 I just reinstalled BS to try out the new patch and found that I had the exact same issue as you do. The solution is simple, at least for me, so try it and see if it works for you as I've had to do this for other games. Find the launcher.exe file in Explorer and right click on it and choose Properties. Then choose the Compatibility tab. Check the Disable Desktop Composition box and apply. It should now work without any issues. Good luck! 1 S! I tried it because it soled problems that I had with both OFF (Over Flanders Fields) and also interestingly with TOW Kursk 1943.. However I have officially reorted the problem which luckily for me is resoved by having FSX menu running in the background. Thanks anyway.

Now I can have a version of windows that looks like it was made this century.
