Given that there are no Typhoons deployed to Afghanistan , or any other active operation, nor have they been deployed anywhere on active operations by any of the operator nations yet. I'd have to say no.

I'm sure I read somewhere that they had been deployed. Isn't this picture taken from Afghanistan? Or is it from a Red Flag?

That image is NOT from a combat zone as they are carrying ACMI pods rather than live ASRAAMS on the outer pylons... Red Flag I suggest

Not RF either, we've not done one yet. It is over the Nellis ranges however, looks like it's from 11 Sqn's bombing trials last year.

We are sending jets over to take part in Red Flag for the first time this year, don't recall which sqn is going off the top of my head though.

It's going to be a couple of years at least before we deploy them to Afghan, if we do at all. So far they are only operational in the QRA role in the UK and Falkland Islands, and similar roles with the other operator nations.

I could have sworn I saw a couple of them in Kandahar.

Then again I am easily confused. ;)

Nope, not yet mate. Could have been a French Rafale you saw, that's the only thing they had out there that looked at all similar to a 'phoon when I did my last tour.

That's it! Thanks for the correction.
