Spartan1-1 Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Ok... Just got back from a long deployment. Updated DCS-BS and got LOFC2, Very happy. Put Windows 7 on my PC. Ive been having CTD's at random but every time I fly. Tried a million different things but it turns out that im having the same problem that I had w/ XP. More than one core set as affinity and a sure CTD every time. So, an obvious fix and not too much trouble. My question is has anyone else heard of this issue? and is there a way to solve it? Also is there a way to disable the the automated set affinity to all processors w/o uninstalling the patch? Thanks guys. Frederf Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 My \Ka-50\Config\autoexec.cfg looks like: affinity_mask = 0 --[[ For 3-cores CPU (AMD Phenom): affinity_mask = 0 = 000 - all cores affinity_mask = 1 = 001 - 0 core affinity_mask = 2 = 010 - 1 core affinity_mask = 3 = 011 - 0, 1 cores affinity_mask = 4 = 100 - 2 core affinity_mask = 5 = 101 - 0, 2 cores affinity_mask = 6 = 110 - 1, 2 cores affinity_mask = 7 = 111 - 0, 1, 2 cores --]] Which should be default.
Spartan1-1 Posted June 13, 2010 Author Posted June 13, 2010 Update: Pretty interesting actually. Setiing affinity to two cores seems to work. Three or four causes CTD's. No idea what would cause this. 104th_Crunch Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I am pretty sure setting affinity is not required anymore and the default install of DCS/FC2 handles it already.
Wolf Rider Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 silly question , but is multicore support enabled in your pc's BIOS? Wolf Rider Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 (edited) some earlier mobos have the option and it isn't necessarily automatic something which may help with the Dell XPS 630i http://www.my630i.com/resources/630icollective.html Edited June 13, 2010 by Wolf Rider City Hall is easier to fight, than a boys' club - an observation :P "Resort is had to ridicule only when reason is against us." - Jefferson "Give a group of potheads a bunch of weed and nothing to smoke out of, and they'll quickly turn into engineers... its simply amazing."
