None of the reviews mention systems operation. Still looks like a good book though.

Finished that book a few months ago. Its a fantastic read. Amazing how much of a beating the hog can take and fly home safely.

Looks interesting ahead of A-10 DCS. Anyone know if it discusses systems and such, or is it just detailed pics for the model builders?

This book is mostly pictures, but carries some very detailed captions. No systems operation insight, though.

I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!"

This is an incredible book! I am 3/4 of the way through it now. Not only is it a great read, it is also good for learning tactics. They go into great detail about how they planned, how they flew, how they attacked, how they coordinate runs, etc. Really, excellent book! None of the other A10 books I have picked up compare to this. Most others are just picture books.

As Brit said, get the F-15e book as well. Very good read.

I wish someone would do a similar book on A-10's in peration Allied Force as that conflict will probably be more enlightening come DCS:A-10C, because, in Iraq, A-10's could fly high, whereas, you try doing that in FC and you will avoid IR SAMS but radar SAMS will get you for sure.

Hopefully SEAD will do their thing in DCS:A-10c before sending in the hogs!

I've just ordered "thud ridge".

Well the Hog Guide didnt go into much systems, but great pics. Good for a pit builder. More of a 40 buck porno for me.

Here are some pf my favorites:

Samurai-zeros/pacific

Stuka Pilot-you guessed it/eastern front

Chickenhawk-Huey's/Vietnam

The Blonde Knight-109's/Europe

When Thunder Rolled-Rasimus F-105's

Palace Cobra-Rasimus F4's

Low Level Hell-Hughes/Vietnam

A lonely Kind of War-FAC/Vietnam

The first two are absolutely incredible in any genre. Also one more which I'v elost or misplaced about a 105 driver in Vietnam. Guy's obviously not a writer, but what a story. Don't remember the name, but the guy spent the a long time in the air force worried that 40/20 vision did not meet the requirement. Lived in dread of being found out. Also instructor thought he ws cheating when he held the plane perfect under the hood, and no instruments. Washed him out. Another instructor asked him how he did it. He said he kept the shadow on his thigh in the same place. Straight back in and to the top of the class lol.

lol yes I did! Sorry all my torrents were in the one folder and I picked the wrong one.

I found the torrent for "Great Planes" now but unfortunately there are no more seeders.

Have a look around, if you find the Great Planes series of documentaries it's on of them. I also like the F-16 episode.

It's a shame they didn't cover the su-25 or the sturmovik, they do cover alot of older planes.

Cheers

I know Bumfire has a server that he is uploading Great Planes episodes to. PM him and he'll probably set you up with a link.
