Bug11 Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I just bought a radeon X800Pro and am getting frames in the teens whenever there is any action or near cities. I have a 1 Gig of memory and a Pentium4 3.2. If there's someone out there that could give me some tweaks or suggestions I'd appreciate it.
169th_Dredd Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Use DriverCleaner to remove all traces of older video drivers. -then install new drivers. A reinstall of Windows can do wonders. In regards to LockOn settings, Im sure other X800 users can give you some advice. :) Enjoy your new card. ---= 169th Panthers -Flt Lt.- =--- http://www.169thpanthers.com.au AMD64 S939 3700 | 2GB Corsair DDR500 | 21" CRT ATI Radeon X800Pro | 2x36GB WD Raptors | SB Audigy TIR3 | TM-868 | X52 | CH Pedals | Creative 5.1 Spkrs

Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Try a tweak I made http://www.lomacfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=103&lid=267&ttitle=Lock_On_1.1_FPS_Tweak_v1.02#dldetails if it helps, please deposit US$1,000 on my bank account.
Bug11 Posted May 2, 2005 Author Posted May 2, 2005 You think that anyone who just bought an X800pro has money left over? ;)
4c Hajduk Veljko Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 I just bought a radeon X800Pro and am getting frames in the teens whenever there is any action or near cities. Look at my sig adn you will see that my machine is similar to yours. And I also get very low fps when flying over cities. Flying low over large city, the fps drops down to 10! It takes really strong CPU to play this game at full. I just hope 1.2 will be coded to fullly utilize dual core processors. Maulkin Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 See this thread : http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=8177 and you will see with my system I am getting about the same. And I am most definitely not using all features to the max. --Maulkin Windows 10 64-bit - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X @ 3.7 GHz - 32 GB DDR4 3600MHz RAM - EVGA FTW3 RTX 3080 - Asus Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard - Samsung EVO Pro 1 TB SSD - TrackIR 4 Pro - Thrustmaster Warthog - Saitek rudder pedals - Lilliput UM-80/C with TM Cougars
LaRata Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Hello : What drivers you are using ??? The 5.1 version will give us more FPS than the 5.4 in FC1.1...
Maulkin Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 I am currently using Cat 5.3 as they have provided the most stability for all the games/sims I have. --Maulkin Windows 10 64-bit - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X @ 3.7 GHz - 32 GB DDR4 3600MHz RAM - EVGA FTW3 RTX 3080 - Asus Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard - Samsung EVO Pro 1 TB SSD - TrackIR 4 Pro - Thrustmaster Warthog - Saitek rudder pedals - Lilliput UM-80/C with TM Cougars
coldcrew Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 maybe he just got a new x800 and turned all his settings to high and wonders why it runs like shit
Andrew_McP Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Nothing wrong with that sadly. The X800 buys you 1600x1200, x4fsaa, x8aniso, and a generally smoother ride (no doubt down to the 256Mb onboard buffering more textures). But frame rate over/near built up areas seems to be CPU-limited rather than vid card. 1600x1200 is very pretty indeed though; takes things one step closer to genuine virtual reality. Andrew McP
arraamis Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 It seems that with lomac, either the GPU or the CPU becomes the bottleneck. In your case, the CPU would be the culprit. You also, didn't mention if you're using AGP or PCI-Express. The newer high performance cards seem to prefer higher resolutions, but the catch is the CPU still has to keep up. And some may disagree, but IMO, INTEL chips are not delivering the same performance marks as AMD's. Conduct an experiment and watch your CPU cycles ingame, noticing when and where it peaks. That will tell you if your CPU is struggling to keep up.
Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 I've had one for a while now, the only drawback in power - I had to get me 530W , my old 300W poured out so much heat I could not stand it anymore. 1600x1200x16 I tweaked it the config , now even over a city I still don't get stuttering.
jason_peters Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 How did u tweak the config??? Do u still get pop-up of buildings??? What FPS do u get???? --------- System: i7-8700k @ 4.9GHz; Nvidia RTX 2080ti; 32GB (2 x 16) DDR4 @ 3333Mz Ram; ASUS ROG Strix z370-E; SSD Drive; Oculus Rift-S; Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog
Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 here is the link http://www.lomacfiles.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&cid=103&lid=267&ttitle=Lock_On_1.1_FPS_Tweak_v1.02#dldetails cloud set at 9 I get 20 FPS cloud set at 3 I get 30 FPS but it also depends of how many AI players you have active at the same time. In my missions, there are 15+ pages of objects, halF of them are AI, 5-10 are fighters or helicopters.
