From a ground perspective will you hear the shells hitting 2 or 3 seconds before you hear the GAU fire? Every video I've seen so far you see and hear them hit then hear the gun fire? wildone_106 Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 heh dont start asking questions like this, people will complain your asking for too much and that they dont care because they are always in the cockpit:smilewink: I like to watch mission tracks and such after I'm done flying. Have a think about that for a second. The shells impact the ground before the sound of the cannon gets to you because they travel faster than the speed of sound. Actually wait, your two sentences above agree with each other, where's the question? Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
cctoide Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I think he's asking if it will be in the game. I would expect it to since I believe one of the features of the new sound engine was speed of sound simulation. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Nate--IRL-- Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Oh ok I see now. The speed of sound is simulated, in the new sound engine, in FC2 and DCS:BS and produces this effect as you described. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
