169th_DedCat Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 After going H2H against a couple of MiGs and the odd Flanker for a couple of hours. The missile effectiveness slider was set to full however. No magic ARH shots from 20 miles, just lots of hard work. Play Hard - Play Fair Squadron Leader "DedCat" 169th Panthers - http://www.169thpanthers.net
SAM-Smasher Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Wow nice work dedcat ;) "I love smashing the crap out of those buggers on the ground who keep making a beeping sound on my RWR..... the bells the bells!!!!!!.... erm yeah.... I like destroying SAM sites, thats the main point"
Kula66 Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 If we are posting 'trophy' shots ... and 3 went in one TWS salvo ... for some reason my scores never seem to show to right, not in 1.02 either ... never figured it out! On-line the 15 still rocks, but against AI off-line ... real pants :(
DarkStar Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 I think you get extra points for landing after the kill :) Or am I wrong?
GGTharos Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 To put it simply... You get poitns for the kill after you land. No land, no points. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Kula66 Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Nope that ain't right ... sometimes I get points/sometimes not ... and I can never be bothered to fly home!
DarkStar Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 You still get points, depending on weapon used I think, but even more if you land... I think, will check it up :)
GGTharos Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Okay. When you shoto someone down, you ge no points. When you land, you get 100% of the points for the kill. If you eject, you get 75% or 70% of points for the kill (dont' recall which) If you die, you get 10% of the poitns for the kill. Clear enough? ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
KuostA Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 hmm..I had absolutely no Idea about the fact that you needed to land to aquire the points that you racked up. I assume this is a feature only to 1.1 right?
bukken Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 hmm..I had absolutely no Idea about the fact that you needed to land to aquire the points that you racked up. I assume this is a feature only to 1.1 right? nope....also in 1.02
KuostA Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 nope....also in 1.02 WOW...And that explains everything..
169th_DedCat Posted May 15, 2005 Author Posted May 15, 2005 If you die, you get 10% of the poitns for the kill. It seems like in 1.1 if you die before your target it destroyed, you get 0 points. Play Hard - Play Fair Squadron Leader "DedCat" 169th Panthers - http://www.169thpanthers.net
S77th-GOYA Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 It seems like in 1.1 if you die before your target it destroyed, you get 0 points. In that case, the kill points have still not been awarded. You will still have to land/eject/die before those points show up. If you hop on takeoff, it counts as landing the kill and you get full points. ;)
Kula66 Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Well, took the advice about landing, went on-line the other night and ... the Eagle still rules BVR!
169th_DedCat Posted June 14, 2005 Author Posted June 14, 2005 Hehe... I went 11 to 0 in that server that night before I finally let my guard down and caught an R-27ET in the face. There's nothing wrong with the Eagle, too many people just want the missiles to do all the work for them. My 4 AIM-120s and 4 AIM-7s worked well enough for me that game. Kula66 Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Those ETs can be nasty ... I normally fire, turn and run dumping chaff ... not much use against one of those fired from close!
169th_DedCat Posted June 14, 2005 Author Posted June 14, 2005 Those ETs can be nasty ... I normally fire, turn and run dumping chaff Chaff isn't any use against a R-27ET at all; it's an IRH missile. Play Hard - Play Fair Squadron Leader "DedCat" 169th Panthers - http://www.169thpanthers.net
Kula66 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Thats what I mean ... I always get caught by ETs because they ignore the chaff and I forget to dump flares at that range!
