and it funny; any body noticed a trend with these game companies? Instead of making patches they are just making new versions to sell as a whole new stand alone?

I guess they can't really charge full price for a patch. I made the mistake of buying this title for my aged and boring 360. I was hoping it would keep my 360 employed for a little longer before I had to remove it from my entertainment center due to sheer lack of use. (It's a wonderful dust collector)

I get it, it was too ambitious, too big and too much for the developers. Templar made the game playable on PC by bring island war and a number of other wonderful features to the PC version.

I won't pay any attention to this title until it's released, I made the mistake of joining the hype wagon for a year with Dragon Rising, I surely won't make that mistake with Red River.

I hope for CM sake they prove me wrong, I'm not sure how begrudging all gamers are, but when I left the forums it was a full out mutiny...troll's galore and to some extent I didn't blame them. CM will have to be honest up front with the games features or keep quiet until things have set in stone.

I think they were their own worst enemy with Dragon Rising.

Man if I was a producer of some of these game companies! I would not be to far away from the pulse of the populous!

No sir, official forums are FREE MARKET RESEARCH they are worth their virtual weight in DIAMONDS AND GOLD x 10000000 ;).

But if they're going to do a console port to PC's then you know the product in the end will suffer (for the PC at least). Consoles being 5 plus years old also limits the player in ways they can't imagine.

not the real operation flashpoint. it is a crappy fake. If you want a modern version get Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

I have both arma and arma2, I love them, but I cant justify buying OAH because my system barely runs arma 2 decently in single player, in multi its a slideshow due to all the scripting.

Arma runs perfect fully maxed, but arma2 was a big let down for me, I love the look and feel of it, but if their is a few units on the map it makes the game lag. I seriously miss playing it :(

I get my new rig parts in a week or so and the first thing I do is install arma2 and buy OAH, because I had to stop playing Arma2 a whileback due to my ssd's slowing down and the fact that arma2 was a killer to my rig even on good days.

I cant wait to get back to some good ol ass kicking on the ground :)

sucks no pc version of Red River...

If you're looking forward to it on the PC, you'll be happy to see it is indeed coming out on PC....

"The game is currently scheduled for release in 2011 on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, and we'll hopefully be able to bring you an updated look in the run-up to its release."

Bumfire - OAH runs smoother on my pc than ArmaII. less forests. more sand! I know my pc is pretty beefy but i can tell the difference so you sure will. oh, and BTW, its mint!

to be honest, i loved Dragon rising. for four days (and the intro music). once i completed it there was a loud MEH and on ebay it went.

It wasnt.........gritty enough, (and no codemasters, i dont mean 'top gear' style camera filters). it wasnt "flashpointy enough". when playing it i wasnt scared. in the original OF i was in a state of constant terror. hiding behind a shrubbery listening to the sound of an approaching BDRM....rumblerumblerumblerumblerumbleRUMBLERUMBLERUMBLERUMBLERUMBLE

better multicore usage apparantly. now they need to get it to recognise additional ram and stop all that HD thrashing and texture popup.

its evolving very nicely though

It would have been nice if Flashpoint DR got even a fraction of that type of support. ARMA 2, RISE OF FLIGHT have both received HUGE patch updates that really have changed the game from it's vanilla release.
