AndrewG Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I can use the launcher and select a mission, instant action, training etc...BUT when i press play the launcher will close and then...NOTHING,i look in the task manager and it says DCS IS RUNNING but i CAN NOT SEE IT OR HEAR ANY SOUND(I can hear sound in the launcher)There is no error,i am NOT getting an error. :helpsmilie: :mad::mad::mad:
71st_Mastiff Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 sounds like your not waiting long enough. The launcher is separate from the game engine. Launcher I believe is OPEN GL, and the game is DX. So you will get a new window pop-up. did you update the patches also? "any failure you meet, is never a defeat; merely a set up for a greater come back", W Forbes. EtherealN Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Through the link I gave you. Follow the directions in it. DxDiag report: Use Start->Run: DXDIAG and "Save All Information, to a TXT file" for the report. In the forum post - upload it using "Go Advanced", then press the "Manage Attachments" in the section below the post. Upload the TXT file. That'll give us a complete picture in one go. EtherealN Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Andrew, Drop the caps lock, please. Mastiff, laptops can play DCS:BS quite fine if they have the right hardware. I played it for a while on a laptop that was similar to his (though a stronger CPU, but weaker GPU). Andrew, what I am most interested in looking at from the DxDiag is stuff like drivers, codecs and suchlike. Easiest if you just upload the info file directly. Again, directions in the post I linked you to. EtherealN Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Mastiff, that is unrelated. There is nothing technically below requirements there. EtherealN Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 So Andrew, you have 1 real DVD drive, 4 virtual CD drives and one virtual DVD drive... Why would you clog your computer like that? That said, I'm not finding anything obviously wrong in a cursory glance aside from that. I assume you have tried the normal switch-to process and such? Alt-tab or through directly selecting the process.
