CHAPE Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Hello, I need help. Can I control the colective with the mouse scroll? It is possible to configure, but I can not make it work. SYL : )
Frederf Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Should be able to manually select "Mouse Z" from the Key/Button drop down menu for Collective assignment on the Axis Commands page.
Frederf Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Mouse controls aren't really real axes so it might not work without some special interpretation code. What happens if you do modifier key + MouseX or MouseY?
CHAPE Posted September 2, 2010 Author Posted September 2, 2010 Is the same when I enter AXIS TUNE I observe a small movement of the cursor. but this does not go through the whole line.
PhoenixBvo Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I suspect the problem is that the mouse wheel doesn't have a minimum and maximum as a proper axis would. It only gives speed and direction of movement as opposed to position within a fixed movement range. And that's no good for controlling collective without some extra interpretation like an integrator which assumes 0 position at the start of a mission. That's not hard to code, but someone has to do it... 26-J39 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) Above post is correct... Mouse scroll will not act like a potentiometer (smooth increments up and down) like a axis ... Joystick is needed with a throttle stick, you don't need to spend heaps of money... Logitech Extreme 3D Pro has held me for years through many sims .. :) Shouldn't cost more than $30 or $40... Simple is sometimes the good Sheeet:D Edited September 2, 2010 by 26-J39
Topgun1984 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Another simple but effective idea and not that expensive What you could do also is Buy a second joystick and make that a collective (i got my idea from JasonJ, because he has the same config and my second joystick will arrive on Saturday) I already have a Extreme 3d pro, but it isn't great for flying with a collective bird (slider is not that accurate, cause it functions alot different then the FSX collective) So i bought a second Joystick (logitechs attack 3) and i can't wait to try it out... It has one dissadvantage and thats the automatic centering, but perhaps some tweaking could make that dissapear.. Cheers, TG1984
PhoenixBvo Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Remove the springs and add counterweight, good luck! CHAPE Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 I want the scroll, because it is more comfortable. I shake my head with the mouse. Using the left hand side. So I got used to flying IL-2. Currently I have two Jostick Logitech Force 3D Pro Saitek CyborgX. When purchasing the TrackIr. Will use one as collectibles. While using the mouse to move the head. Does anyone have any idea more? How can I do?

Yes you can with PPjoy Create a virtual joystick with PPjoy. Use the PPjoy program 'PPjoy Mouse to Virtual Joystick' or from All Programs >> PPjoy >> Virtual Joysticks >> Mouse Joystick Set the Z gain to 75 only, X, and Y gain set to 0 This will make the scroll wheel move one axis in the virtual joystick you created earlier which then Black Shark can detect. Note: PPjoy will not work on Win7 etc because of driver signing. But you can override this by disabling driver signing and running Win in Test Mode.
