Obbiwan Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Hi, i have windows 7/64bits and i try to install Flaming Cliffs v1.1 (CD version) over Lock-on (CD version). When i restart my computer a message inform me that StarForce driver protection (v 3.6.10.3) is not compatible with my OS. If i launch Lock-on 1.1 a StarForce windows ask me if i want to restart to finish installation. Choosing restart a this time does not unlock anything. The patch 1.12b install the StarForce v.3.7.19.4. but seems not to be compatible with W7. Does some W7 user have succeed to resolve this issue? Thanks for your answers.
104th_Crunch Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Get the starforce update from the starforce website. Even better, get FC2 :)
RICARDO Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 hello, i still have to face the same problem, i can't install fc2 on my new seven64. because my flaming cliff is impossible to launch. let me tell you all the process. i have a gold version cd. i install first lockon on HDD "E" (not on "c" on wich i have my seven system) lockon works well i install flaming cliff on the same HDD i launch FC on seven with admin rights star force is installing and asks to reboot i answers "no" i run the patch from star force web site to update sarforce. star force is asking for a reboot to finish update. i reboot when i launch fc i have this message : and it is impossible to lauch flaming cliff if i try to go directly to the FC2 patch, install it and launch FC2 (dowloaded version) with my serial number, the aplication says that it can't find FC1.1 i don't know what to do and at this point i really need your help. thank's
Panzertard Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 1. Install LockOn - dont' start it. 2. Do not install FC 3. Install FC2 in a separate dir - not over LockOn. 4. Download FC2 patch 1, install over FC2. You can then start FC2. The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
RICARDO Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 thank's a lot Panzertard for this new option in my quest :smilewink: i am going to try this tonight.:thumbup:
RICARDO Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 hello Panzerhard, do you know where i could find the FC2 version1.2.0 ? i have found only the 1.2.1 on the net, it seems that everybody goes strait to the evolution.
RICARDO Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 thank's, it works.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
JD_LincsUK Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Hi, i have windows 7/64bits and i try to install Flaming Cliffs v1.1 (CD version) over Lock-on (CD version). The patch 1.12b install the StarForce v.3.7.19.4. but seems not to be compatible with W7. Does some W7 user have succeed to resolve this issue? Thanks for your answers. I had this issue, too, and I have FC2, but prefer 1.12 and all the mods/missions I have for it. I also find my G940 works very well in FC1 but not so good in FC2 :) I had been trying to install FC for a while, then gave up and went back to LOMAC 102 - but now I have FC in and am enjoying designing some new missions. Anyone else struggling with FC installation in Win7 (I have 64 bit...), I followed this advice from another post and it worked just fine: Important: Every step needs to be executed with Administrator privileges! Otherwise, some needed modules won't be installed. 1. Install Lockon 1.0 (Close the autorun screen and start the installer by hand from Windows Explorer) 2. Install Flaming Cliffs (Close the autorun screen and start the installer by hand from Windows Explorer) 3. Install Patch 1.12b for "LockOn 1.1: Flaming Cliffs" simulator 4. Start Lockon and reboot when instructed. After rebooting, ignore the message that the Starforce driver is disabled. 5. Install the Starforce Update 6. Reboot Now you can start Flaming Cliffs using your regular user privileges. JD c/s Zebedee
mikethemadmonk Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 The 1.12b patch Forgive me if I am completely out of date. Just reinstalled Lock-on and Flaming cliffs, over the top. It runs ok, when the game starts Starforce checks the disk and off we go. Now after downloading and installing the 1.12b patch, Starforce asks for a serial number. I dont have one, never had one, wasn't provided with the two boxed versions I bought online. So, is there an answer to this problem, or do I just play without any updates.
Azrayen Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 mikethemadmonk, you installed the wrong 1.12b patch. There is one for boxed versions (it checks disk, not serial) and one for D/L versions (same in reverse). ++ Az'
