Deadman Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) Guys what are you looking for in A-10 parts? I ran in to a friend that was building kit aircraft and is now switching business to CNC machining parts and molds for other companies. Any way I showed him my A-10A Main instrument panel and it would be no problem to make a C version with a few modifications for sim use .( He is looking for a cheaper material to machine it from) I all so showed him the Glare shield and my plans for the fire handle pulls he wont make less than a 15 unit run price he quoted me on the fire handle pulls $200.00 for all three. Aluminum mount and handle base with an engraved lexan lens aluminum tube. So is any one looking for replicas and not the SWAG that is being sold? let me know. Cali Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Can he do an F-16 main panel? i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
Deadman Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 HI Cali I am sure he could do the F-16 panel. I don't have any experience with the f-16 or parts. The only person I have heard about making quality parts is Phaser in Germany . You might want to stop at VP I have taken a break from that building sight and you find its particular madness to your liking. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Hansolo Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Arghhhhh if I have had this info earlier on.... I am already in the process of making my own based on measurements from MacFevre. They wil not be as good as these offered here :( I will keep monitoring if anyone else is interested then I might have to jump in. For the time being I will continue on my far from accurate ones. grayson Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Hi DM, if the handles go ahead I`m in for a set, all the best.
Deadman Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) the fire pulls are designed to fit the glare shield ,housing plus being the correct width Edited March 25, 2014 by Deadman https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

Deadman Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 Well it appears that there is no real interest in the fire pull handles and the glare Shield so if there is something the majority of people are interested in. I may work on it but I think it is time to work on my pit for the summer. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Stevos758 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Deadman, Any idea of when you will be releasing your great book of A-10C references? I am looking to start my panels and am looking for the most accurate measurements. Also I have been working on some firepulls for Macfavre and they are a pain to print on a 3D printer. : ) Good luck! Hopefully the resin casting will work out better. Facebook Ripp's Garage Tech LLC
Deadman Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Hi the book is coming a long slowly at the moment. I have been spending a.lot of hours on the handles started another part time job . So I am working 50 to 60 hours a week. By your past threads your building parts for sale. The book is being made for the home builders making a set of panels for them selves. Please pm me if you want to work out a deal for you to commercial make and sell panels thanks Dm https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Stevos758 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 PM inbound. I'm glad you brought that up! I was going to ask about that. Facebook Ripp's Garage Tech LLC
JCook Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 DM If it comes around again, I'd be interested in the fire pulls/glareshield. John
Deadman Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 Hi J i will. but I think at this time it may be time for a break from product runs or involvement on the site. Thanks DM https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
MacFevre Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 :( Don't stay away too long! Take a good rest, cut back on the work hours, and just work on your own pit for awhile instead of everyone else's. After that come on back and we'll be here waiting for you. :pilotfly: Buttons aren't toys! :smilewink: My new Version 2 Pit: MacFevre A-10C SimPit V2 My first pit thread: A-10C Simulator Pit "The TARDIS."
