hachiman Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Hi. Just a couple of questions. If i have a target locked and want to use my cannon and the target is on my left and i have to yaw the copter to the left to get the target in my cannons azimuth i believe you press the automatic turn to target button(Q). However when i press it the chopper does,nt do anything. Am i doing something wrong? And also to do a dead stop and just hover is it best to press Ltrl and T? Thanx
MTFDarkEagle Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Hi, On your first question: Do you have the heading hold channel enabled? On your second: trim to hover. Try to hover at a spot, and trim accordingly to keep the hover while you are not holding the stick. Then you (not necessary though) engage autohover. Does this answer your questions? hachiman Posted September 19, 2010 Author Posted September 19, 2010 Thanx for quick response Eagle. Regarding the first question No. And i'm not even sure what that is?
Zenra Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) Make sure the Heading Hold channel of the autopilot channel is engaged (right panel) Edit: Sorry, that was a pretty lame reply; check out page 6-69 of the (English) PDF manual. Make sure the "H" button is lit, signifying the yaw dapener, and therefore the heading channel, of the autopilot, is engaged. Frederf Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 The Alt+T "reset trim" is a simulation maintenance type command. It doesn't exist in the real aircraft. Using it will make an abrupt rest of the controls to their 0,0,0 positions which usually isn't good plus it's fantasy. Auto-hover is not exactly the best name "hover hold" would be better as you have to be pretty close manually to engage it with confidence.

Sorry and haven't been on the forums till now, and had already made a track that i have attached.. Pretty sure i did as was instructed, but still no turn to target.cannon.trk
topdog Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Forgive my slightly erratic head movements, but I noticed when playing your track and taking control, the handling of the shark seemed odd, I could abuse the collective, the position of the cyclic was off, and yet the heli seemed rather stable. I couldn't get the turn-to-target to work initially, so I thought I'd make a copy of the mission (from the \temp directory where it put itself during track playback) and fly it under my preferences. Small shock when I unpaused to start as the bird fell out the sky and I had to stabilise things. I then just popped on Moving Ground and Auto Turn, pointed to the left with my HMS and uncaged the Shkval and it immediately started to pan as expected (doesn't need weapons armed or targets locked or anything, it'll work with any ground position you get a fix on). So I think the differences we get might be down to some options you have enabled, could it be either the Game Mode or Game Avionics perhaps?cannon2.trk [ i7 2600k 4.6GHz :: 16GB Mushkin Blackline LV :: EVGA GTX 1080ti 11GB ] [ TM Warthog / Saitek Rudder :: Oculus Rift :: Obutto cockpit :: Acer HN274H 27" 120Hz :: 3D Vision Ready ]
hachiman Posted September 20, 2010 Author Posted September 20, 2010 Thats it Topdog. For the last couple of days i've been blowing stuff up and thinking i am the bees knees as i hit stuff in a hover. And now i realise it's been in game mode and not simulation the whole time. You don't get the slew in game mode. I put simulation on and i drop like a stone and have no control. Lol. Oh well back to the drawing board.
MTFDarkEagle Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Practise... Practise... Practise... Practise...:) If you would like to have a training session, I'll be happy to help out :) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
