Scabbers Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 What about getting 3 touch screen monitors for your 3 consoles so that you can touch the controls instead of panning your view and then the main mointor could be used for hud and canopy panning with the track IR Now where is that speed brakes control again? Ninefingers Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I agree absolutely, believe that this is what the guys of SCS simulations are working on Otherwise we have the front control panel of the plane double on the front panel of cockpit and on the screen and to work only with the HUD view we need to implement all the switches And this method is cheaper and generic Hope that it should be understood My TM Warthog DIY extension tutorial C2Duo E8600 @ 4.4Ghz. | Asus Rampage Formula X48 | MSI GTX 560Ti OC | 8Gb.Corsair DDR2 RAM @ 1103Mhz. | Crucial M4 128Gb. I am now trying to figure out how to sell my wife on buying all the stuff for my pit....lol Now where is that speed brakes control again? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Ninefingers Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Actually what I'd like would be to be able to have the complete frontal panel of the Warthog, as is on the sim whith all the switches on the front screen, not just a representation of the instruments. Same on side consoles. Don't know if this might do My TM Warthog DIY extension tutorial C2Duo E8600 @ 4.4Ghz. | Asus Rampage Formula X48 | MSI GTX 560Ti OC | 8Gb.Corsair DDR2 RAM @ 1103Mhz. | Crucial M4 128Gb. SSD | 850W. Oscar Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Ninefinger, you might want to browse this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=51362 Looks like its what you're after........ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ninefingers Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 (edited) No no. What I want to say is to have the original images of the sim panels on three touch screens, without having influence of the TrackIR on these three screens. But in the Helios proyect they have only the instruments on the front screen, I'd like to have a real view of the front panel (and the others) as is on the sim whith the ability of touch the switches too... Again sorry for my poor english Edited September 20, 2010 by Ninefingers My TM Warthog DIY extension tutorial C2Duo E8600 @ 4.4Ghz. | Asus Rampage Formula X48 | MSI GTX 560Ti OC | 8Gb.Corsair DDR2 RAM @ 1103Mhz. | Crucial M4 128Gb. Flim Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 We are working hard on full touch cockpit software along with a complete steel powder coated frame made for our Aces II A-10 seat. Right now I'm almost doing complete ramp starts in falcon. Just a little more code and we will be there. Pretty amazing!!
Ninefingers Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 (edited) Hello Flim ! I've seen already some of your progresses on Falcon, your work is absolutely nice ! I understand that it is not possible to work very much on DCS A-10 until the final release but I have a question for you: Do you believe that it will be possible to extract the original views of the panels to different screens or it will be necessary to program again the panels apart ? Thanks and continue with your good work Edited September 20, 2010 by Ninefingers My TM Warthog DIY extension tutorial C2Duo E8600 @ 4.4Ghz. | Asus Rampage Formula X48 | MSI GTX 560Ti OC | 8Gb.Corsair DDR2 RAM @ 1103Mhz. | Crucial M4 128Gb. Flim Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 All the panels are built in Helios, except some special ones like the mfd's, cdu, etc... and those are 3d rendered. The only thing we use are the external windows from DCS- CDU, MFD'S. All of the Gauges will be native to Helios as well. You can create custom panels with the built in panel editor if you need an extra switch, not hard and pretty quick. We will have art packs for different aircraft so that (keystrokes/switches/panels) are ready to go!
power5 Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I can not wait for the helios. Its the only thing that I will be able to afford to get a "pit" and get off my computer desk. Succellus Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Oscar that may be an option But probably more headaches also and some legal issues...:D Better sell her. Cowboy10uk Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 i suppose not even that i will be able to get, would have to switch desk first.... Well Build you own desk, Then you can design how you want. :) Im looking at a desk idea similar to the Ikea Build in Home cockpits area by Talisman. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42253 However With the slight difference of a hinged monitor holder in the middle of desk and slightly sunk, That I can add a 23" touch screen running Helios to. That way I get full front panel, to start, and have the advantage of pullouts on left and right to hold Throttle, and possible hard wire switches, or another couple of touchscreens, Not sure which I prefere to go with at this time. Think I might be able to build the desk for less than £100. Then the rest you build up one at a time, All the benefits of a pit with Less space taken up, and in pit building terms, Fairly cheap im hoping. Do it over quite a few months, and even the misses wont be able to complain about cost, as its spread over a long time. ( Ok Im dreaming about this bit  ) However this all hinges on Helios, doing what I want, E.G. Being able to have all front panel instruments and switches on screen, Including the radio panel, and It all working on touchscreen, I Know their Vid shows that for the F16, So it is lookign good. I just hope Im not expecting too much. As A-10 is not out yet I can only speculate on full detail, but based on Black Shark we will be able to have 90% of the gauges and most switches synced as well. I'm dependent on being able to extract the data displayed on LCD read outs, in black shark the 7 segment displays for PVI-800 and UV-26 are not exported at all (that anyone has found yet). Assuming the radios are exported like in Black Shark fully displaying a radio panel will work as well. Gauges and synced switches do require Export.lua support so you will have to fly on servers that don't restrict that (which I don't really understand why any do).
