  3. You will need to get the "Air Display" app and the PC component to extend your PC desktop to your iPad. Within TB you can define the display coordinates (x,y) for the second display where the template will be displayed. This process will use you local wireless network to transmit the key macros, by touch, to the game. TB is run in "local" mode, and thus, DCS needs to run in windowed mode to get around mouse cursor focus issues. All is explained in TB and TBTK readme files. I'm sure WBK will be along shortly to provide other answers you may have......
  4. - Given the size of the proposed map (160x100 ?), any campaign would be limited to RAF and 9th AF, some early 8th AF ... - The map size will severely limit any kind of 8th AF bomber campaign... - We will have planes with a range that we can't fully use..... -- Spitfire 175-250 miles -- P-47 (without tanks) 230-250 miles -- P-47 (with tanks) 375-400 miles -- P-51 (with tanks) 700 miles Given the track history of any recent flight sims, don't hold your breath hoping for a DC... Unless ED provides the sim hooks for interaction with the game and you are prepared to build it yourself...., a DC won't exist.

  6. We all play with the stick settings. Hell, I've swung from one end of them to the other trying to find a happy medium. It's really hard to get HOTAS settings that can simulate and account for 20lbs of force. What I'd be curious to know, given the FM, is what a baseline stick setting looks like for this aircraft that provides what could be considered an "actual" or "realistic" feel relative to the real aircraft. Maybe it's not a matter of whether the FM is right or wrong. Maybe it's a matter of us virtual pilots not knowing exactly what the stick settings should be that pair up with the FM provided. Rock, could you post your complete and current settings. You guys doing the aerobatics should be our best source for this data. Edit: jib, do fly that thing standing up.....lol?

  9. Don't know how to respond Yo-Yo. Yes, I know what the (orig) manual says. But on THIS P-51, we pushed the stick forward, and the tailwheel completely unlocks - free wheel -360 degree rotation. Pull the stick back locks the tailwheel mechanism. Pushing the rudder pedals in either direction turns the tailwheel correspondingly along with the rudder. No differential braking involved. It's not limited to a six degree movement range. Maybe it just this aircraft....... Dunno.....
  10. A footnote to this thread. I had the opportunity yesterday to speak with the Crew Chief for a P-51C and to observe first hand and up close the operation of the tail wheel assembly. Caveat: This is a P-51C and not a D, however, the tailwheel assembly is essentially the same in both models. Towing Operations - When towing the aircraft from the primary gear, the stick in pushed forward to release the tailwheel lock to permit full movement.. - When towing the aircraft from the tailwheel location, the stick is pushed forward to release the tailwheel lock to permit full movement. Taxi Operations - When taxiing the aircraft under its own power, the stick the pulled back to engage the tailwheel lock and in-turn is physically linked to the rudder and rudder pedal mechanical linkage assembly. The rudder pedals are used to turn the tailwheel AND the rudder control surface. - When taxiing the aircraft under its own power, the only time the stick is pushed forward, thus unlocking the tailwheel, is when the aircraft is being pivoted on a handstand/parking area to change it's facing position by ground crew. There is insufficient prop wash to provide enough rudder authority to turn the aircraft at idle/taxi speeds. Using increased RPM to provided enough prop wash to provide rudder authority can and will damage the engine. Bottom line: The aircraft rudder pedals turn both the tailwheel and rudder when taxiing.
  11. Actually, I'd like to see the map dimensions build off Standard Aircraft Sectional Charts boundaries. In this way, future maps can be developed to abut or extend the flying area. I believe this would be a better approach then to just pick an arbitrary size like 100x160.

  15. Stats are only a measure of penis size - means nothing - absolutely nothing. If you want stats, then record mission accomplishment or failure. The fact some pilot gets 50 ground kills during a mission means nothing if the mission goals were not accomplished.

  18. RL.... But, if the map is in-fact 10 degrees off, and the elevations are incorrect, then this needs to be fixed by luckybob prior to final release - for sure. The same 10 degrees accounts for your 4 degrees of magnetic deviation versus 14. As for the RF(s), this needs to be corrected as well - by ED at the very least. If this sim is going to pride itself on fidelity and acuracy, then we need to go all the way .... no half steps. Keep up the good work!
