T-Bone Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 (edited) Right now most of the people working on maps are keeping it within 500km x 500km. The creation of the land mesh is actually quite simple, which is why sparse desert maps are a pretty good option at this point in time just as map developers get into the swing of things. Populating the maps is time consuming. What would you guys like to see with A-10C? I can think of some theaters and environments for a post 2007 world which could accomodate the A-10C quite well: Iraq/Iran Border - Iran invades Iraq (moderately hard to make because of object count) Venezuela - Venezuela attacks Columbia (harder to make because of object count) Northwestern Pakistan - Defeat remnants of Taliban and Al Quaeda (relatively easier to make) Alaska - Fairbanks training (easier to make - sparse tundra/mountains, but with Nevada this would be redundant) Korean Peninsula - Self explanitory (very hard to make - lots of stuff here) Azerbaijan - Russian invades from North, Iran invades from south (hard- lots of stuff here) Kazahkstan - China invades for natural resources, Russians and US intervene (easier to make - sparse grasslands/desert) Edited October 21, 2010 by T-Bone [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Asus G72GX | CPU: Core 2 Duo Overclocked @ 2.9Ghz | Memory 6GB DDR2 | Graphics Card: nVidia GTX 260m 1GB | OS: Windows 7 Home Premium | Monitor: Samsung 32" LCD LOMAC 1.0 to FC 1.12 System RIP (2003-2010) | AMD Athlon 64 3000+ overclocked to 2565MHz | NVidia Geforce 7800 GS AGP 256 MB | 1GB Kingston PC2700 DDR DRAM | Windows 2000 with SP4
Moa Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Would like to see the Lebanon/Israeli/Syrian border. Very active and lots of hide and seek up there. Some nice terrain to model and not too many cities. Also, some of the islands or the West of Taiwan would be a good scenario (hopefully never to happen in real life). A-10C in Korea could easily be flown to Taiwan (eg. via Kadena in Okinawa).
Outlaw Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) I would say go for Iraq... :music_whistling: The 1st close fly by I saw in Iraq at the last days off the war was a 4 ship of A-10 (wasnt a C, C was used in 2007 over Iraq) about 100 meter high heading toward the western Iraqi Airbases.. was great :pilotfly: Lucky me they didnt open fire Edited October 22, 2010 by Outlaw Specs: 13900k @ 5.5Ghz, 64GB @ 3600Mhz, 3080Ti.

A-10C in Korea could easily be flown to Taiwan (eg. via Kadena in Okinawa). The problem with introducing a major power like China is you need to create unique tanks and planes for it as well. Also I think Taiwan would be best saved for an F/A-18 sim, due to the maritime nature of the scenario. The geopolitical landscape in the region is very interesting, with Iraq now being a major US ally between Syria and Iran. Well it would be realistic if you do it since Iraq is getting 96 F-16, C-130, Bell ARH-70, MH6, UH-1, Mi-17 little bird plus the old migs... Aso many new ground forces so it will look good and I sure wanna drop some GPU bombs over baghdad  Specs: 13900k @ 5.5Ghz, 64GB @ 3600Mhz, 3080Ti.
