looks nice! How much stretching do you have at the top and bottom? I was playing with 3 horizontal screens, but the stretching really bothered me. I may end just using one screen. Will try this out though.

BTW, that looks like SuperHornet pit... that right or are my eyes deceiving me?

There is very little stretching, none in the vertical. If you go single screen you will get what you see on the middle screen, look how much more you see with this setup. This is an ATI eyefinity setup with a combined resolution of ~ 1900x3700. In my opinion this combined with Trackir is the best setup for fighters and should work good with the new A10 sim. Its great for dogfighting, have been using it in AcesHigh 2 and love it.

Interesting. Have you tried 3 wide with the displays in portrait mode/orientation?

Portrait is what he has now. But i don't understand the point of such layout, human eyes capture bigger azimuth angle (side to side) than elevation for a reason. Isn't landscape layout more immersive?

Noooo... What he has in the picture above is three monitors, each in landscape mode / orientation, stacked vertically. What I was asking about was three monitors, each in portrait mode / orientation, arranged horizontally, (side by side).

Human eyes are presumably the way they are because we are land dwelling creatures by nature. This whole flying and fighting in the air hasn't been going on long enough to be a factor in how our vision develops/evolves.

As for what is more immersive in the sims, some folks feel it is more important to get more of the vertical view. I suspect there is a better result for flight sims somewhere in the middle ground... hence my question to the O.P.

There are a lot of variables at play in what works best... Using head tracking? Using 16:9 aspect ratio monitors, 16:10, or ??? Which Sim(s), and how much time do you need to have your head down in the cockpit, versus looking outside?

you will get some stretch depending on your zoom level, the closer to the cockpit you get the less stretch you will see.

i have run landscape 3 wide on the th2go, then portrait mode 3 wide using 3way sli and it is very good but the fact remains you tend to keep looking down to the instruments, this stacked landscape solution is great for that

reason and looking up in a dogfight for example, but lacks peripheral view which from my experiments ruins the illusion even panning left and right using the trackir, you just can't see enough.

once i manage to stack 2x th2go (3x2) in a six screen which was pretty impressive.

when i played with vertical stacking in FC1 i had issues with the very top changing colour and getting some weird lines etc.

that was only using 2x 5:4 screens vertical stacked.

looks like that may have been resolved,

so i may thanks to you revisit this idea.

great work on the 3x vertical stack Burnerski, i like it

I am interested in doing 3 portrait monitors side by side. As stated I think this gives the best of both. More vertical than landscape monitors side by side and also gives more peripheral vision than landscape monitors stacked.

I see a lot of stretch on the side panels near the bottom. The beszel cuts through your instruments so you will need to be doing quite a bit of head movement it seems.

Still cool setup though. What game? AH2?

I had triple screen profile and I like this setup better. You really need trackir and a 6DOF pit to get the best effect. Is it perfect? No. But this is IMO the best setup for a reasonable price with current technology. I used FSX superbug in the pic because it is probably the closest to the coming Warthog sim. In the current version of lockon the top half of the upper screen is clipped. I'm personally into "guns only" dogfighting aginst real people and Aces High 2 is all I fly. With this setup I feel like I'm cheating cause I know most people are on single screens.

I will try and do a video the problem is its hard to get the whole sim in the cameras view.

i was thinking your screens were fc2, admittedly just clanced the actual pit.

so you too saw the graphics annomolies up the top in fc2, good to know.

and it's not cheating, it's clever thinking.
